Nadia Zaidi is a mom of 2 girls from the Upper West Side and host of The Crystal Drive Residence in East Hampton. She gives us the low-down on the best things to do and places to go to live like a local in The Hamptons.
Breakfast
Most places in the area are grab and go but there are also lovely dine-in spots.
- Goldberg bagels – just the best!
- Amber Waves Farm in Amagansett – my favorite; a must go
- Rosie’s Amagansett
- Organic Krush
- Jack’s Stir Brew
- Sant Ambroeus
- Estias Little Kitchen in Sag Harbor
- Grindstone – for the best doughnuts
- Sagtown Coffee – for the best overnight oats and coffee
Lunch
- Round Swamp Farm – for prepared salads and food to go
- Doubles in Amagansett – highly recommended; casual with benches outside so it’s easy with kids
- Hampton Chutney
- The Golden Pear – very casual with prepared foods to go
Dinner
- Sisi’s
- La Bilboquet in Sag Harbor – highly recommended
- Tutto Il giorno
- Blue Parrot – a casual place for tacos
- Sag Pizza – easy and casual
- Moby’s – for a fun group spot with the kids!
- Bostwicks – for delicious lobster rolls
Beaches
- Main Beach in East Hampton – open to public with paid parking. Visit on Tuesday nights for Music on the Beach with live bands and family fun.
- The smaller beaches are for residents only until 4pm. I recommend you go after 4pm to see the sunset – it’s lovely! My favorites are Georgica and Indian Wells.
- Montauk – the lighthouse is fun for the kids and you can make a morning of it. Tip: get tickets in advance! Montauk also has a bunch of lobster stands, a cute main street and old school candy shop.
Activities
- Sag Harbor – the main street is fun to walk around and watch the boats dock
- Children’s Museum of the East End in Bridgehampton – if you need something to do on a rainy day
- Longhouse Reserve – arty hangout
- Wolffers Estates Vineyard – for cheese and wine and live music on Fridays
- Channings Daughter winery
- The Parrish – art museum in Water Mill
- The Sweet Spot in East Hampton and Buddha Berry in Sag Harbor for ice cream
Shopping
Southampton has the largest main street, but East Hampton and Amagansett also have some fun shopping, including: The Row, Chanel, Suzi Kondi, Goop, Jenni Kayne, Alex Mills, Reformation, Unsubscribed, Eres and more!
