This spacious 1-bedroom flat in central Reykjavik sleeps up to 6 +1, overlooks a playground and is across the road from one of the city’s best thermal swimming pools. Decorated in Scandinavian spartan style, with white walls, white linen and wooden floors, it has a large bedroom, spacious living room with piano and harmonium and a kitchen and bathroom. A cot is available for young children. We love the views from the balconies, of the playground in one direction and a patchwork of colored rooftops and sea beyond it in another. It’s an easy place to stay in the city with kids - a short stroll from the rugged coastline in one direction and the shops and city’s cultural attractions in the other.
What we love
- Great views: overlooking the kids playground at the back of the building and city rooftops as far as the sea at the front
- Vesturbaejarlaug, an outdoor thermal swimming pool, is just across the street, with a kids pool and adult pool, saunas and hot tubs
- Large living space with views of the city plus dining table, piano, harmonium and space to play
- Mattresses for up to 4 people for use in the living space
- Kitchen with fridge, stove and oven
- Black tiled bathroom with shower and bath
- Crib, high chair and toys available
- Garden with picnic table outside (note that images show Reykjavik in the winter)
- Close to the sea and a lovely seaside walking and cycling route

Reykjavík, Iceland
Meet the Vikings
Many Icelanders can trace their family history right back to the Vikings – so where better to get to know this part of ancient history? The capital of Iceland is the size of a small town anywhere else in the world, and has a patchwork of colored houses in the old town, an old harbor which runs whale watching trips and a plethora of design stores, fashion boutiques and cafés. Visit museums and art galleries, swim in the Blue Lagoon or tour the countryside nearby, marvelling at volcanic peaks, glaciers, towering waterfalls and shaggy little ponies.
