You can park your hired bikes right in the front yard (the best way to see the city) and enjoy the sights and sounds of Amsterdam from the roof terrace. There’s space for the whole family to relax in the lounge after busy days of sightseeing, and a great compact kitchen for family breakfasts too. One of the city’s many canals is at the end of the street, and it’s just a 10-minute walk to the desirable ‘9 Streets’ area, known for its luxury boutiques and picturesque canals.

Why Kids Love it

Kids of all ages will love a city break to Amsterdam, with its great playgrounds, museums and care-free spirit. This home is perfect for older kids and teens, who can navigate the stairs and enjoy the bunk beds and terrace, or explore the family-friendly area with independence. The NEMO Science Museum is unmissable for kids under 12 (11 minutes by bike) and the city’s ARTIS Zoo (13 minutes by bike) is wonderful for the whole family.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: XX nights. Safety notes: the house is set over 5 floors (which is typical of Amsterdam homes) but there are some steps without stair gates so young toddlers may need additional help. The stairs up to the top floor are twisted and narrow which may not be suitable for those less mobile. The closest tram stop is Bloemgracht (3 minutes’ walk) and you can reach Centraal station is 15 minutes by tram, or on foot (30 minutes).

About the Location

The house is located in the Jordaan district of Amsterdam. This is one of those most sought-after areas in the city, filled with independent shops, cute bakeries and excellent coffee shops. Visit the Saturday morning market at Noordermarkt (13 minutes’ walk) for fresh produce to cook at home, and stop by at some of the city’s fantastic playgrounds for kids (such as De Noorderspeeltuin, 10 minutes away). The famous site of Anne Frank Huis is 8 minutes away on foot. There’s also a bike rental store 3 minutes away so you can explore the city with ease.

Accommodation Details

The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, set over 5 floors. The ground floor opens straight into the kitchen/diner, with an L-shaped counter top and dining table to seat 6. Upstairs to the second floor is the main living area, with a large cozy couch and a small bathroom. Upstairs again to the third floor, you’ll find 1 kingszie bedroom, a bathroom and laundry facilities. The fourth floor has a kingsize bedroom and a bathroom, while the final top floor has the bunk bedroom and terrace.

Style Notes

Natural and neutral. This is a classic Amsterdam home, with fresh, simple, white interiors and a minimalist approach. It’s rare to find such a large family home in such a central area and the hosts have created a relaxing space within the hustle and bustle. Architectural and historic features still shine while renovated bathrooms and a clever integrated kitchen fit in with the house’s traditional structure. We love the exposed white walls on the ground floor, the dual windows in the living room and the natural wood flooring throughout, which adds a fresh, Scandinavian feel.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 15% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 15% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
