Perks for the Parents

On the ground floor of a building a few steps from the Acropolis, this bright family home has plenty of space to play, including a fun outdoor space, and suits families with kids of all ages. Plenty of items for young children (under 3) are provided. The location is incredible - a block away from a long pedestrian road known as Aeropagitou, ideal for a daily walk along the Acropolis rock, with the Acropolis, Parthenon and other ancient temples atop it.

Why Kids Love it

There are toys, books, games and plenty more for young children, along with a regular high chair. The greatest treat, when the weather is nice, is playing in the yard. Ideal for children, 1 bedroom has twin beds which can be pushed together to make a kingsize bed if preferred.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 nights. Most door handles are too high for toddlers to open. All cleaning supplies are stored up high. There is a sofa bed in the lounge. Extra guests (above 4) are accommodated at €60 per person per night; the house sleeps 4 people for the listing rate and can sleep an additional 2 on sofa beds.

About the Location

Away from the hectic throng, the Acropolis area is the safest and quietest area of central Athens. It is well connected by public transport to the rest of the city. It is 40 minutes from Athens International Airport. Other attractions nearby include parks and playgrounds, tavernas, museums and a variety of historic temples.

Accommodation Details

This 1-level, ground floor apartment has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an open-plan kitchen with dishwasher and Nespresso, play area, dining and living area with sofa bed. Each bright bedroom has its own closet space; 1 has a kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom while the other has 2 single beds that can be combined to a kingsize bed on request. The 2 bathrooms have walk-in showers and there is a hydro massage Jacuzzi in the courtyard. All rooms are child friendly. There is an outdoor semi-covered play area with a tiled floor and plants.

Style Notes

The decor is simple, child-friendly and stylish. Soothing and dimming lighting gives a sense of calmness. Bedrooms also have night lights. Fragile items are kept out of reach. The rustic stone walls and bright white bring plenty of character.

We are a Greek-American family all born in Greece; we are also parents to a wonderful daughter. We have been in the hospitality business since 2015 and in the restaurant business before that with over 10 years of experience. We are happy to share our care to families who wish to visit Athens and hope to be part of a wonderful experience.

Ancient ruins and modern families

Running around ancient ruins, picnicking in the shade of palm trees and buying koulouri, the sesame bread that the Athenians love so much, are just a few treats to look forward to on a trip to Athens. Don’t worry about the kids getting bored, the modern museums beside the city's archaeological sites know how to keep everyone occupied. If all else fails, a cable car trip up Mount Likavitos with an ice-cream at the top is always a good solution. Our local residences near markets and key attractions make a trip to the city with kids as easy as Greek spinach pie.

We had a wonderful stay at the SV Acropolis restaurant. Andreas and Lucy gave us lots of useful information prior to and on our arrival and helped organise a transfer from the airport. The accommodation was spacious and stylish (and the children loved the hot tub). We were in a great location with easy access to the pedestrian path that runs beneath the Acropolis site. It was easy to walk to the Acropolis Museum and metro station and there were lots of nice places to eat out. Our hosts helped us make a restaurant reservation for a place with roof top dining and a view of the Parthenon. We enjoyed ourselves at the SV Acropolis residence and sightseeing in Athens.

From the moment we got into a taxi from the airport organised by Andreas, we felt looked after and welcomed to Athens! Andreas is a host like no other: welcoming, thoughtful, thorough, warm and always available for any questions/recommendations. When he asked us on leaving if we had any recommendations for anything that was missing or could be changed in the apartment, we came up with nothing! It is perfectly formed and located for exploring the city centre and all the antiquities. We loved the neighbourhood spots Andreas recommended for meals, it was clean and comfortable for all four of us and we loved the art on the walls! Our favourite neighbourhood memories are of daily breakfast from Takis bakery eaten with a coffee from Drupes Spitzeria opposite, daily ice creams from Django, moussaka from Sfika and sundown light over the Acropolis! Thank you SV Acropolis Residence!

The SV Acropolis Residence was the perfect place for us to say during our time in Athens. Its location is very convenient for exploring the city and visiting its best museums and archeological sites. The living spaces, both indoor and outdoor, are comfortable, attractive and well equipped. Our host, Andreas, provided recommendations and other valuable information, as well as a few essentials in the refrigerator, which made our stay easier and more enjoyable. His communication, care and support were exemplary. Oh, and it was spotless and plenty of precautions were taken to protect against the spread of COVID-19. Do not hesitate to book this property!

The SV acropolis residence was beautiful in a perfect location close to the acropolis. The hosts thought of everything including a printer on-site to print boarding passes, arranging our transportation to/from the airport and a guide with a list of recommendations for restaurants, coffee shops, and museums. We would highly recommend a stay here.

This was the PERFECT home away from home for our 5 night stay in Athens with a 21 month old toddler in tow! Located across the road from the Acropolis and easy access (mostly walking distance) to all the major museums and markets on the travel list. With a toddler still requiring a decent afternoon nap, the location made it super easy to sightsee and take respite during the hottest part of the day. Anna was a fantastic host, offering suggestions re: sites, restaurants and amenities. She organised a driver for our airport arrival late afternoon and helped me grab a few groceries for our toddlers breakfast so I didn't have to worry about that on arrival. These things made for a very relaxed arrival and set the tone for a lovely stay. My son loved having age appropriate toys and a bath, I loved being in child friendly space! I've been raving about the Webster Residence and will definitely use Kid&Coe again!
