The house has books and games for children aged 6 and up, and the 2 smaller bedrooms are located separately on the top floor, which is ideal for older kids or teens to get some space from parents. It’s less than 5 minutes’ walk from Camden High Street, where older kids and teens will love exploring the colorful punk markets, music venues and street food stalls. Parents with little ones can head to Gloucester Gate playground or London Zoo, both less than 10 minutes away on foot at Regents Park.

Things to Know

No smoking, pets or parties. Please note, the basement will not be accessible during your stay, while the study on the half landing between ground and first floor will also be locked. The gas fireplaces are not in use. The washing machine and dryer can be found in the communal lobby for the basement flat, shared with the basement and accessed by going downstairs to the separate basement front door. The pretty garden with apple tree, roses and clematis can be accessed through French windows opening out from the ground floor study to spiral staircase. There is a barbecue and outside table and chairs for eating outside in the summer. The tenant in the basement flat also has access to the shared patio space at one end of the garden. A double sofa bed can also be found in the living room. Please be aware, all bathrooms have baths with shower attachments only.

About the Location

The property is located just behind Camden High Street, known for being a lively area with a great nightlife, lots of pubs and plenty of options for food or shopping. It’s less than 10 minutes’ walk to both Camden Town and Mornington Crescent underground stations for fast access into Soho or Fitzrovia (15 minutes by tube) and the West End is roughly 20 minutes away by underground. Heathrow airport is less than 1 hour away by car or train.

Accommodation Details

The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, set over 4 floors. The raised ground floor features the kitchen (well equipped with a Miele refrigerator/freezer and stainless steel appliances) and dining room. The living room is up on the first floor - a double sitting room and TV room all across the whole floor with double aspect and windows and small balcony at the front. The second floor is home to the primary suite, offering a kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom with a lavish bath by the window. The top floor features 2 double rooms and the family bathroom.

Style Notes

Traditional townhouse. The hosts have chosen an adventurous design aesthetic that blends eclectic, contemporary and traditional styles. Period splendor abounds in the double reception room, which boasts a well-stocked home library and period fireplace, as well as striking wall art, a bohemian rug and calming views across the quintessential Victorian street. We love the calming blue hues of the kitchen, the beautiful traditional sash windows and the delicately lofted ceilings on the top floor bedrooms.

We had a magical stay in London thanks to this great find in Camden Town. The townhouse is located on a charming, treelined street set away from the busier hub of Camden and is far more spacious than is evident in photos. I felt like our family of 4 could have moved in for the year! The home exudes taste and warmth and Old English charm and gave us plenty of room to spread out. Everything was first-rate, including incredibly comfortable beds and a spacious kitchen. We loved being so close to the funky shops in Camden as well as being a short tube or bus ride away from other London neighborhoods. We hope to return soon!
