Why Kids Love it
Kids will love the children’s bedroom, where they can nap on the mezzanine level or use it as a kids-only hangout to escape parents. They’ll enjoy playing in the heated pool (12m) and indoors offers a Samsung TV and Apple TV services. For parents with babies or toddlers, the hosts can provide a high chair and a BabyBjörn crib. Nearby Comporta offers an excellent array of activities including horse riding, kayaking, fishing, hunting, sailing, bird watching and cycling. There are also several surf schools at the nearby beaches with friendly teachers. Bikes are provided at the villa so that families can safely explore on 2 wheels: children can ride through the rice fields or along the beach, all the nicer at sunset, or you can also reach the beach on foot (5 minutes’ walk).
Things to Know
A security deposit of €1,000 is charged to the guest’s credit card before arrival and refunded 2 weeks after departure, subject to full inspection. Check in: 4pm. Check out: 10am. In the winter months, a minimum stay of one month is required and there will be an extra cost for cleaning (daily, 3h/day) and energy (€500 per month). Sorry, no pets allowed. Rates include: tourist tax, daily cleaning (Monday to Saturday), luxury toiletries, a Samsung Serif television with Apple TV, a wine cooler with 2 temperatures, fluffy dressing gowns, bikes, beach towels and a useful laundry room. For an additional fee, guests can request a shopping and meal delivery service, private chefs, airport transfers, massages, yoga, personal training and babysitting.
About the Location
The villa is just 5 minutes’ walk from Praia do Pego, a beach of fine sand, thrilling waves and glorious sunsets just an hour south of Lisbon on the Atlantic coast. This stretch of coastline is lined with fine golden sand, gorgeous dunes and surrounding fragrant pine forests and rice fields - you might even spot Sado dolphins in the ocean. The beaches of Pego and Carvalhal are renowned for their surf, wild beauty and beach restaurants, including the Sal and O’Dinis restaurants. It’s a 5-minute drive to Carvalhal village (or 10 minutes by bike), where you’ll find a good array of cafes and restaurants as well as a central shopping street brimming with antique shops, boutiques and decorating shops. Comporta’s magnificent surfing beaches (20 minutes’ drive) boast 2 surf schools which offer courses for all ages and levels. Comporta village is roughly 10 minutes’ drive from the villa. Lisbon’s international airport is around 1.5 hours away.
Accommodation Details
The house has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, all set on 1 floor. You’ll find a gorgeous contemporary living space, dining area and chef’s kitchen (featuring outstanding Miele and Smeg appliances, a Nespresso coffee machine and a large cooking island made in Estremoz marble stone) all connected by the outdoor deck. The 3 bedrooms all boast sunset views, ensuite bathrooms and access to the terrace. The primary bedroom features a double bed and an in-room freestanding bathtub which overlooks the ocean. The second room is also a double, while the third is a double/twin with a cozy mezzanine ‘den’, which can sleep 1 child on a single floor bed. On the north side you can enjoy sunset views and on the south, the villa opens to its private sunny deck, pool and dune garden. The pool rests partly on the deck and partly on the sandy garden, surrounded by loungers and floor cushions.

Laid-back minimalism. This luxurious home was designed by the renowned architect Joao Pedro Falcao de Campos. Paying homage to traditional Alentejo houses it boasts dazzling white walls, gable roofs and fabulous Estremoz marble stone. Dominated by strong lines, the architecture offers a bold, striking effect while sitting in a totally natural environment on the border of Comporta’s green floodplain and its sparkling, white sandy dunes. We love the striking modern fireplace in the living room, the simple all-white bedroom linens and the contemporary integrated kitchen, crafted with natural wood materials.
