About the Location
The villa is located just outside the village of Roda, set between the rolling hills of northern Corfu and the coast. The village is one of the livelier resorts on Corfu and is around a 15-minute walk away offering up restaurants, bars, cafes and supermarkets. Corfu is blessed with many sandy, shallow beaches, and the villa is located right on the shores of one (Roda beach) which has its own family friendly taverna, and watersports hire. Nearby Acharavi has a wider range of amenities a 10-minute drive away. Palaiokastritsa, 30 minutes by car, has an aquarium and a donkey sanctuary which younger kids might enjoy, as well as one of the most popular family beaches. For thrill-seekers, Aqualand Corfu water park with various flumes and tube rides is 40 minutes’ drive away. Corfu town with its old and new fortresses is 45 minutes’ drive away, as is the island’s airport.

Corfu, Greek Islands
Families, and other animals
The island of Corfu is where Gerald Durrell began his great love of animals - and the geckos, fish, insects and clear waters that he loved are still very much in evidence today. It’s not completely the same - tourist-focused strips in the north can get very busy and noisy - but beyond them you can still find quiet beaches, stone villages and plenty of sunshine for all the family. Don’t miss Corfu’s beautiful old town, or eating fresh fish in a waterfront taverna.
