There is fast internet with WiFi on all floors of the house as well as Spotify account and Sonos.

Why Kids Love it

The residence has plenty of toys and books for toddlers and young kids, and lots of storage which means the parents can enjoy a stylish house when the kids are asleep. There are a step as well as two mountain bikes suitable for 5-7 and 8-10 years old. Two high chairs are included, from which one is with a baby set. Right in front of the house, there is a child-safe playground and within walking distance, there are several parks and a children's farm. The hosts can provide a list of bars and restaurants suitable for a visit with young kids, as well as other great things to do with the family. All bedrooms have blinds as well as curtains so little ones can sleep comfortably in a dark room during the day if needed.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: flexible - please contact host for details. Safety notes: The roof terrace has, besides the legally approved metal fence, an additional bamboo fence 140cm high to prevent little ones from climbing out. Also, the windows have additional locks. Normally, the house is cleaned on a weekly base; the hosts will agree with you on how to arrange cleaning during your stay to make your visit as comfortable as you want. Car rental is not advised - public transport and cycling are the best ways to get around the city itself.

About the Location

The residence is in the Baarsjes area of the city, 10 minutes from Dam square and 5 minutes from the Jordaan. Less crowded than the center, it is one of the up-and-coming neighborhoods in the city and there is plenty to do nearby. There are 3 big parks with walking distance, as well as many shops and grocery stores, bars and restaurants, and a children's farm. From Schiphol airport, it is only 15 minutes by taxi and 30 minutes by public transportation to the house. For guests with car rental, there is parking right front of the house for a fee of around 30 euro per day. There is a park-and-ride option for 1 euro per day at the train station Sloterdijk (10-15 minutes by public transport) or pre-bookable Parkable services in the area (10-14 euro per day).

Accommodation Details

This 3-story design apartment includes a child-safe roof terrace. From the main entrance on the first floor, you enter the spacious (shared) staircase where strollers can be stored. The apartment's main entrance is on the second floor and provides a spacious living room with an open kitchen on the third floor, with a big 6-burner stove, lots of storage and all the herbs and spices you can imagine. There is also a toilet and a study on this floor. The fourth floor has a bathroom with a big bath, a separate walk-in shower, a toilet and 2 sinks, plus the master bedroom with a king size bed. There is a second bedroom, set up with 2 single beds (plus an additional trundle single bed). The spacious roof terrace with olive trees, lounging area, dining table and barbecue is reached from this floor. The recently renovated fifth floor has a third bedroom with a king size bed and closet, plus a separate washing area with a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a travel crib available upon request.

Style Notes

Modern Scandinavian. The hosts love to combine contemporary and vintage design classics and have created a space that is great for adults and children alike. The wooden shutters on the third floor and all the lighting throughout with dimmer switches helps you to easily create the atmosphere you want. White walls, neutral tones and well-chosen showpiece artwork and sculptures makes it original and calming. We love the cookbook display in the kitchen, the mid-century modern sideboard and the roof terrace.

Nice to meet you! I grew up in the south of Holland, my wife in Merida, Venezuela. We have a son Ilay (2014) and a daughter Flo (2017). We love meeting people, especially from other cultures / countries. Since 20 years we live and work in Amsterdam, which is besides the traveling, our most favorite city after all. We would love to welcome you and give you the best experience of Amsterdam possible. Looking forward to host you!

Lovely place to stay! House had everything we needed to cook, sleep, and relax. Our 2.5 year old loved the toys. Host was very responsive, and if there was anything we needed, it was taken care of. We were also able to borrow their bikes and explore the city with our toddler. Location very close to the tram stop and 1 block from a grocery store. Would absolutely recommend!

We absolutely loved staying in Frank’s home! It was so beautifully designed and cozy, and Frank was so wonderful, giving us his best local tips and helping me find great restaurants and things to do for my daughter’s birthday, which we celebrated in Amsterdam. It was also very cool to use his bikes. We felt like true locals! I highly recommend a stay at this gorgeous home if you travel to Amsterdam!

We had a lovely week in Amsterdam with our two little ones. The apartment is super well equipped, clean and in a very convenient location. Easy bike ride to many restaurants with terraces near canals. And surrounded of incredible parks. Frank was super accesible and responsive for all our needs, the arrival very smooth. We were able to use the family bikes which was a great experience for our 5 year old, and also super near to a public baqme cargo bike that can be rent. We already want to go back! Thanks for everything Frank and family.

Frank’s place was the perfect spot for our stay in Amsterdam. His home is lovely, with boxes of toys that my 2 year old had a lot of fun with. The neighborhood is convenient but not at all packed with tourists, and Frank provided a google map full of all the playgrounds within close walking distance, plus some other great spots for food and drinks. We would definitely stay again.

Thank you Frank and family for having us stay in your home. The house was spotless! Definitely a plus when staying in a home. Frank made everything so easy from check in to check out. The neighborhood was a bit from the center however the tram and metro are about a 3 min walk which made it really easy. There is a super market next to the house as well which was super convenient when staying with a baby. Everything was equipped for our baby/ toddler. Thanks again for a great experience! We loved Amsterdam :)

Frank is an incredible host. He answered all our questions, gave us information about the neighborhood, he helped us to celebrate my son’s birthday and he even welcomed us with a couple of bottles of wine The apartment is amazing, very spacious, comfortable and modern. My kids loved to play with legos. We would definitely stay at Frank's house again.

Beautiful home in a great area for families. quiet with a little park just outside. Very close to a canal. Safe residential area. The interiors are lovely - very well designed with everything we needed. Frank was accomodating and a great host. Just a note that there's a bit stairs which is perfectly fine and normal in the netherlands- but a call out in case families are stairs-conscious. Everything was in great condition and safe. No complaints would definitely book again.

Frank was a very caring and supporting host, trying his utmost to make us feel comfortable during our stay. The property is very nice and, besides the typical stairs in Amsterdam, which could be challenging when carrying up things, an excellent place to stay with small kids too. There is a nice kids playground near by and the Erasmuspark just 5min walking distance with lots of space to let the small ones run and play. We can definitely recommend this property and want to thank Frank and his family for hosting us!

Frank and his family were the perfect hosts and made sure that everything was seamless, from our check-in, to arranging for a stroller. The apartment was beautiful, comfortable and in a residential neighborhood away from the busiest parts of the city. We loved pretending to be locals and our daughter (2) loved being able to play with “new” toys and explore the little park next door. It was a relief to not have to worry about lugging a travel crib, etc. - everything we needed was there! We had a wonderful stay.

We had an amazing time! The property is super kid friendly - particularly if your kids are obsessed with cars and trucks like mine are! Frank was an amazing host, always willing to help (including carrying our bags up the steep stairs to the apartment). I would wholeheartedly recommend this property to anyone with young kids

Frank's home was just as described - clean, spacious and lots of toys! We enjoyed the location and exploring the nearby parks on the two bikes (with child seats) that he let us use. There are a lot of steep stairs, but this is common in Amsterdam and did not prove to be a problem for us. There is a grocery just a few minutes walk away and the nearest tram is conveniently located just a 10 min walk away as well. We loved our stay here in Amsterdam!
