A luxury, ocean front villa with expansive private gardens, stunning sea views and its own spacious swimming pool. It sleeps 16. Set in the Sea Horse Ranch resort, guests can enjoy all the privacy of a private villa with full access to the resort’s amenities including an equestrian center, tennis club, cave pools, playgrounds, and beach club restaurants. Newly renovated, the villa’s interiors are fresh and luxurious with plenty of floor to ceiling glass windows and doors to let in the sea breeze and ocean views. All 7 bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms so there’s more than enough space and privacy for 1 large family or multiple family groups. For laid-back days in, there’s a separate studio/den with sofas and a TV so kids or adults can screen a movie or catch up with a good book in peace. The tropical gardens have generous lawn space, ideal for kids with energy to burn, and there’s plenty of chill out loungers and day beds to keep an eye on them from. The residence affords spectacular sunset views, with alfresco dining tables and sofa sets to enjoy them from. The host can help arrange for in-house chefs, and the resort's restaurant can deliver.

Why Kids Love it

Kids have plenty of room for fun and games here with a huge pool to splash about in, expansive tropical gardens for runabouts, spacious air-conditioned interiors to chill out in and a whole resort to explore. The resort’s facilities are a short walk or golf cart ride away, featuring plenty of family-friendly places to play and get active, from tennis courts and horse riding to playgrounds, a trampoline area and swimming pools for all abilities. For laid back days in, the residence has something for everyone. Older kids and teens will enjoy lazy afternoons camped out on the pool-side day beds while beady-eyed wildlife enthusiasts can watch out for whales in the local bay. For budding astronomers there’s excellent star gazing to be had from the villa’s gardens, with a BBQ for toasting S’mores. The nautical themed kids’ room is set up with 2 bunk beds sleeping 4, facilitating sleepover style fun, while there are 3 bedrooms with 2 beds in each for older ones seeking extra space. For young children, cribs, highchairs and a baby bath are included on request; babysitting can be arranged at an extra cost.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 nights; 7 nights during the holiday season. Although there are plenty of beds and flexible bedroom options for families, the property can only sleep up to a maximum of 16 with children. The residence is safe and secure with 24-hour security. Please note that the pool is not gated and young children will need to be supervised around it. Rates include a concierge service, maid and garden service and a housekeeper. Beach towels are provided. There is WiFi and air conditioning throughout the residence. The host can arrange for in-house chefs, airport transfers, babysitters, and a pre-arrival grocery stock on request. Pets are welcome, please let the host know when booking. Car hire is recommended; there is private parking available.

About the Location

The residence is located in the Sea Horse Ranch resort, between Sosua and Cabaret, close to Puerto Plata. The closest beaches are Cabarete and Sosua (5 minutes and 8 minutes by car respectively) and the closest surf beach (Encuentro) is 5 minutes’ drive. There are also beaches within walking distance: Almond beach which is wild and mostly used for walks or jogs, and a small beach at The Beach Club, which has beach chairs, restaurant service and bathrooms. The Sea Horse Ranch resort includes seaside pools featuring caves, waterfalls and a smaller pool for children, the Beach Club, a playground and trampoline area. Golf carts may be available to get around in, on request depending on availability. The nearest airport is Puerto Plata International, about 15 minutes away by car/ taxi.

Accommodation Details

The residence has 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms set over one floor. The extensive living area spans several rooms, with terrace doors that fully open up to an alfresco covered porch with sofas. Inside, there are several sofa sets gathered around coffee tables providing multiple gathering spots, and lamps to light up evening socials. To the right is a dining room with a large table seating 12 and glass doors which can be thrown open to provide terrace access. Behind the dining room is a large chef’s kitchen, fully-equipped with everything a guest could need. A separate studio suite provides a comfortable lounge setting with books, a television and more sofas. Corridors lead off to the 7 bedrooms – all with ensuite shower rooms and air conditioning. The primary bedroom is accessed through ornate double doors and comes with a kingsize bed, twin sinks and an ensuite. There are 2 further kingsize bedrooms; 1 bedroom with 2 queensize beds; 2 bedrooms with 2 doublesize beds and a kids’ bedroom with 2 bunkbeds sleeping 4. One bedroom has an extra twin bed which may suit a nanny. Most are accessible from the garden via terrace doors. Outside, spaces include a sheltered patio with seating beneath the gazebo, and a central patio area beyond with sofa sets, an alfresco dining table and a BBQ. Expansive lawned gardens with mature tropical planting roll down to the ocean and there are several patio/decked areas dotted about with sun loungers, day beds and tables. The oversized swimming pool is set between the residence and the ocean, perfectly sized for relaxing or swimming laps.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
Cancellations only available up to 90 days before arrival. After that the hosts may be able to offer the option to reschedule if there is no reimbursement. In addition to the host’s policy which is listed here, all cancellations are subject to a Kid & Coe cancellation fee of 15% of the booking total.

Sea Horse Ranch has been in existence since 1990. The Puerto Plata airport opened for business in 1985 and it has taken all these 30 years for the area to mature into what it is today. Sea Horse Ranch is conveniently located 10 km from the Puerto Plata airport between the towns of Sosua and Cabarete. Cabarete is only 8 minutes down the coast and is an endless source of entertainment most notably water sports and many waterfront restaurants. We have a vibrant community with 117 built homes, all unique and attractive in their design. 37% of homeowners reside here permanently; it is a thriving community all year round. We have homeowners from around the world as Cabarete in general is an international destination, with the main foreign language being English. We have 40% North Americans, 33% Europeans, and 17% Dominicans from either Santo Domingo or Santiago who have weekend homes here. The last 9% are from other various parts of the globe. It is a wonderful community to live in or vacation in, where many of the potentially challenging aspects about adjusting to life in the Dominican Republic are taken care of for you. This includes full time electricity, excellent security, and a full restaurant on the ocean with home delivery as well as a fully staffed onsite office that does concierge, rentals, property management and accounting. Of course there are additional amenities that are pay per service such as the Tennis, Equestrian Center, and Spa Services. As an additional service, we can administrate and or rent your villa so that you can relax and enjoy your villa without adding more chores to your busy life. Of course lifestyle is one of the major motivators for home ownership in the Dominican Republic. Homeowners and rental guests move about the Ranch, enjoying all that 250 acres has to offer. Kids run free in a way that reminds us of times gone by. Sea Horse Ranch has always set the standards for gated community living in the area, and one of the things that really make us stand out is the large area of undeveloped ocean front land that is accessible to everyone in the community.
