Perks for the Parents

This apartment in the heart of fashionable Frederiksberg is great for a weekend break with children, packed with design details and close to playgrounds. Steps from boutiques, cafes and bakeries, and a short and easy cycle ride from the city’s zoo and main shopping areas, it’s a delightful place for a family stay.

Why Kids Love it

The hosts have a teenage daughter, so the children's room has been updated to more of a youth space. However there is a Sylvanian house and Lego toys available for younger guests. A baby bath, crib and high chair may be available on request. In a lovely part of the city, it is a short walk from local playgrounds and within easy reach of the zoo and Sondermarken park.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 nights. The property is safe and secure with keyed entry from street level to the apartment door at the 3rd floor. There is no elevator access. There is no outdoor space for the property but there are beautiful gardens nearby. The residence is easy to reach via public transport or taxi. Parking is limited nearby. Bike rental is recommended to get the best of the city (and there are rental bikes just next door), otherwise it’s easy to walk everywhere, or take the bus, Metro or S-train are easy ways to get to art galleries and attractions outside the main city center. There is WiFi throughout.

About the Location

The apartment is placed on a very attractive location in Frederiksberg, a part of central Copenhagen with leafy streets, pavement cafes and historic houses. It takes 15 minutes walk to the center of Copenhagen and to the Tivoli Gardens amusement park. Just beside the residence, you find gardens, shops, cafés, restaurants and wine bars. A famous theatre, Betty Nansen, is 2-minutes’ walk away. While it is central, it is also a quiet and family-friendly area. Copenhagen Kastrup Airport is 20 away by taxi, and the central station is 6 minutes away by taxi.

Accommodation Details

This 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment is set over 1 floor. It includes a main dining room with a large table seating 6-8, a cozy living room, and a kitchen. The bathroom has a shower, as typical in Copenhagen. There is a primary bedroom with kingsize bed and a second teen bedroom with a queensize bed.

Style Notes

Modern Danish. The apartment is modern and decorated both with Danish design and heirlooms. You will also find cosy and colorful painted walls, cute kids spaces and a superb Bulthaup kitchen, giving you the opportunity to cook your own Nordic food. We love the stripped pine floorboards, the historic building with stained glass windows on entry, and the cozy and comfortable lounge.

Welcome to our lovely home at Frederiksberg - a part of Copenhagen. We live 3 people in the apartment (two adults and one child who is 17 years old) and we all love to travel. Therefore we find the possibility to rent out our home very obvious. Please find you comfortable and hopefully you will enjoy the apartment as much as we do!

Frederiksberg, Copenhagen

If it's good enough for the penguins...

Frederiksberg is Copenhagen's most wanted neighborhood, especially for families. With classy cobblestone streets, historic buildings, Copenhagen Zoo and plenty of green space at Sondermarken, it's not bad for photo opportunities either. Rent bikes and cycle round the city - it's central, too - and don't miss the French Street, Værnedamsvej, which has a bakery, spirit shop, cheese shop and more.

We had a wonderful stay in Copenhagen. The property is perfectly situated for great morning coffee shops, great playgrounds and walking to the zoo (highly recommended). Really easy to get around with all the public transport links too. Christina was the perfect host. Always available if we had questions and left a sweet welcome gift. The apartment is slightly older and on the 3rd floor so for my age children (4&7) it was great! (But maybe not for mini ones with prams) We had the best stay and would love to stay again

We spent 5 days at the end of october in this apartment: beautiful old flat, well decorated. Comfortables beds. The location is great, very easy to go to the center with the new subway line. Christina is a lovely and available host. She gave us good advice for our stay that was adapted to our child. Copenhagen is pleasant and quiet city. Sure that we will come back. We really enjoyed our stay at this residence. Great location amidst shops, restaurants and cafes. One of the best parts is the metro stop at the of the street, making travel around the city so easy! Two things to note: 1) The flat is on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator. If you have a stroller, you can probably park it on the ground floor under the stairs. 2) The bathroom is really small but that is typical of traditional homes in Copenhagen. It worked for us. The owner and her daughter greeted us when we arrived and showed around. My 7-yr daughter loved playing with the dollhouse and legos. The dining room was large and light filled. We enjoyed eating our breakfast there. The residence is wonderfully designed. We are so happy we chose this spacious place instead of staying in a tiny hotel room.

We had a really excellent stay here. The apartment itself is immaculate, really stylish and well appointed with lovely kitchen and facilities and plenty of space for us and our two children, both under five. Children’s toys and flexible children’s sleeping arrangements a really nice touch, and all in a beautiful residential area of Copenhagen. Host is super friendly and helpful too. Can’t fault this place and would highly recommend.

Our stay at the Madvigs Alle Residence was everything we could have hoped for! The residence had everything we needed, including a crib, high chair and baby bath ready when we arrived, and the neighbourhood was a perfect family destination: close to beautiful large parks, the Copenhagen zoo, Tivoli, and even a playground just across the street. The area also offered lots of cafes and casual dining options, and convenient grocery stores. The apartment itself was bright, airy, quiet and comfortable, was nicely set up for kids of a range of ages, and offered lots of space to relax, eat, and play. 100% recommend!

This home is a true gem! Christina was so helpful in helping my family settle into Copenhagen. She was a wonderful host and was always very responsive. The apartment located in a beautiful part of the city and everything was very convenient by walking or public transportation. And to top it all off the apartment is spectacular--- so stylish and comfortable, but also great for kids with everything we needed. Our daughter loved her bedroom and especially the dollhouse! It was perfect for our family of 4. Thanks Christina! Will definitely stay there again if we visit Copenhagen again!

We had a truly wonderful stay at Christina's home. The apartment was spacious, clean, GORGEOUS, and well located, despite the hike up four flights of stairs ;). We loved staying in Frederiksberg, especially being so close to Hart Bageri and Frederiksberg Gardens. It was an easy walk to the center of town, as well. The kids' room is large and divided into a sleeping area and play area. In fact, the only issue was there were so many legos and an enticing dollhouse and dolls that our girls wanted to stay in the apartment and play instead of going out to explore. But one taste of modern Danish patisserie solved that problem -- and the promise of a visit to Tivoli. Christina was a thoughtful and gracious host, leaving us a lovely bottle of white wine and making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay with our two daughters, ages 5.5 and 3. We hope to stay here again when we return to Copenhagen -- and there's no doubt we'll be returning. What a fantastic city!

We had a wonderful stay in Christina's apartment. The location was perfect, right near shops and restaurants, with close access to the entire city. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for our stay (including cookies, tea, etc). Our children loved playing with the toys Christina and her family left for them, and the room they shared was made up perfectly for them. We would love to stay here again on another visit to Copenhagen.
