The Madvigs Alle Residence
Perks for the Parents
This apartment in the heart of fashionable Frederiksberg is great for a weekend break with children, packed with design details and close to playgrounds. Steps from boutiques, cafes and bakeries, and a short and easy cycle ride from the city’s zoo and main shopping areas, it’s a delightful place for a family stay.
Why Kids Love it
The hosts have a teenage daughter, so the children's room has been updated to more of a youth space. However there is a Sylvanian house and Lego toys available for younger guests. A baby bath, crib and high chair may be available on request. In a lovely part of the city, it is a short walk from local playgrounds and within easy reach of the zoo and Sondermarken park.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 2 nights. The property is safe and secure with keyed entry from street level to the apartment door at the 3rd floor. There is no elevator access. There is no outdoor space for the property but there are beautiful gardens nearby. The residence is easy to reach via public transport or taxi. Parking is limited nearby. Bike rental is recommended to get the best of the city (and there are rental bikes just next door), otherwise it’s easy to walk everywhere, or take the bus, Metro or S-train are easy ways to get to art galleries and attractions outside the main city center. There is WiFi throughout.
About the Location
The apartment is placed on a very attractive location in Frederiksberg, a part of central Copenhagen with leafy streets, pavement cafes and historic houses. It takes 15 minutes walk to the center of Copenhagen and to the Tivoli Gardens amusement park. Just beside the residence, you find gardens, shops, cafés, restaurants and wine bars. A famous theatre, Betty Nansen, is 2-minutes’ walk away. While it is central, it is also a quiet and family-friendly area. Copenhagen Kastrup Airport is 20 away by taxi, and the central station is 6 minutes away by taxi.
Accommodation Details
This 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment is set over 1 floor. It includes a main dining room with a large table seating 6-8, a cozy living room, and a kitchen. The bathroom has a shower, as typical in Copenhagen. There is a primary bedroom with kingsize bed and a second teen bedroom with a queensize bed.
Style Notes
Modern Danish. The apartment is modern and decorated both with Danish design and heirlooms. You will also find cosy and colorful painted walls, cute kids spaces and a superb Bulthaup kitchen, giving you the opportunity to cook your own Nordic food. We love the stripped pine floorboards, the historic building with stained glass windows on entry, and the cozy and comfortable lounge.

Frederiksberg, Copenhagen
If it's good enough for the penguins...
Frederiksberg is Copenhagen's most wanted neighborhood, especially for families. With classy cobblestone streets, historic buildings, Copenhagen Zoo and plenty of green space at Sondermarken, it's not bad for photo opportunities either. Rent bikes and cycle round the city - it's central, too - and don't miss the French Street, Værnedamsvej, which has a bakery, spirit shop, cheese shop and more.
