I cant say enough about how amazing this property and the hosts are! We arrived in Amsterdam very early, and Marre and Jan let us drop off our bags while the home was being made ready. And when it was ready we saw they had left us some stroopwafels to snack on! The home itself is the perfect place for a family to stay during a trip to the city. The rooms were comfortable, the home was spotless and cozy, and it truly felt like a slice of authentic Netherlands we got to call home for a couple days! Location wise it couldn't be beat, we were within a 10-15 minute walk of every major site, and if it was farther the trams were so close! I would 100% recommend Marre & Jan and they property to any family traveling to Amsterdam and would love to stay here again in the future!

Marre was a wonderful host and we loved our stay in her home! Very fun and funky residence in a perfect location to explore the city, park, restaurants, and museums. Our kids loved it too and didn't want to leave! We had a great time at this lovely and clean home and we can't wait to come back soon!

Our family's stay at this house in Amsterdam was truly delightful. We felt like locals, enjoying the authentic neighborhood atmosphere. One of our favorite moments was relaxing at the garden table, chatting, and having drinks at the end of each day. Our host, Marre, was exceptional. Her communication throughout our stay was excellent, and we're grateful for her hospitality. The check-in and check-out processes were smooth, and we especially appreciated Marre's flexibility in allowing us to extend our checkout time. We had such a positive experience that we wouldn't hesitate to book this house again on our next trip to Amsterdam. It provided the perfect base for exploring the city while offering a cozy, homely retreat.

The house is very well decorated on two floors. The kitchen is well equipped with a pleasant living room overlooking the street. The staircase to the bedrooms is steep (as always in Amsterdam houses!). The two children's rooms are not suitable for young children as they are high up, one of which has a staircase without a guard rail. The bathroom has a shower and a bath. The house is very well located for visiting Amsterdam, we will come back!

Our stay at The Helmersstraat Residence was perfect for our family of four. The apartment was exactly as described and was well stocked with everything we needed for our 5-night stay. Our host Marre was an excellent communicator and she went above and beyond to assist us with questions and restaurant reservations. I would highly recommend this property and Marre was an outstanding host.

Great house, clean, very convenient for museums, restaurants and coffee shops. Easy access to central Amsterdam. Enjoyed ourselves very much.

This is the third time we’ve stayed at the Helmersstraat Residence and we just love staying here! It’s a home away from home with everything you need to unwind after a busy day of sightseeing. Marre is the perfect host; so kind and accommodating. The kids rooms are super cute and functional and our kids loved playing with their toys. Overall the perfect rental in Amsterdam!

We had a wonderful stay at Marre’s sweet home. It’s the perfect location in a quiet residential neighborhood yet close to everything. There’s everything you need from great restaurants to shopping close by. The inside is charming and perfect for a family with an abundance of toys .. our 3 kids loved it! We spent a week at Marre's in July with our 3 children (12, 9, 5). The house is perfectly located, away from the crowd but close to everything. The house is beautiful, clean, cosy. Marre is extremly kind and reactive to all our requests. We had a wonderful week !

Nous avons vraiment passé un bon week-end. La maison est parfaite pour la famille, située dans un magnifique quartier, proche du centre ville et des musées ,même à pieds. Deux petits bémols : les escaliers de la maison sont à emprunter avec précaution, surtout pour les enfants. Et attention aux stationnements dans le quartier, contrôle même dans la soirée. Sinon, je recommande vraiment cette adresse si vous ne connaissez pas la ville et que vous voulez vous promenez tranquillement au rythme des enfants. Julien.

It was a wonderful experience. We had a time full of adventure, loving people and an exciting city. Thank you so much to Marre and her lovely family who exchanged their home/house and their neighborhood with us. Especially in these days, it is all the more important to deal confidently with other nations and cultures. For us as a family of 5 it is a perfect way to show our kids the world and educate them without prejudice against anything. Thank you to kid&coe for this super home exchange platform !

This is a fantastic property. It is located on a quiet residential street in the heart of the museum district. Although the street itself is very quiet, you are within a few minutes walk of loads of great places to eat, bakeries to buy breakfast, several supermarkets, various tram lines and many of Amsterdam's best attractions (Vondelpark, various museums). The location really could not be better. There is even a little playground on the corner with a trampoline and various climbing frames. The house itself is absolutely beautiful - very stylish but also child friendly. There is a lovely master bedroom with one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. There are three children's bedrooms, which all have high beds accessed up a flight of stairs. They wouldn't be great for adults, as the beds are so close to the ceiling you can't sit up in them, but my 8 year old daughter absolutely loved them and slept very well up there. There is a good shower, a washing machine and tumble dryer and an additional downstairs toilet. Marre, our host, always responded to messages very quickly and although she was not in Amsterdam during our visit she made arrangements to hand over the keys and sent messages to check we were ok. The only negative I can think of is that the stairs are very steep and the steps themselves are narrow. They would be difficult to navigate for anyone with mobility difficulties and young children would need to be closely supervised. This was not a problem for us at all but it is something to bear in mind. We would definitely stay here again if we were in Amsterdam.

We had a wonderful stay in and throughly enjoyed both the house and the neighborhood. The home is beautifully decorated and the kids were so happy and busy with all of the toys. We ended up spending more time at the house than expected because we felt so comfortable there. Our two bigger kids loved running across the street to play at the playground. There are tons of shops and restaurants nearby- we especially enjoyed Foodhallen.

We had a wonderful stay at Marre's house. The location is great, lots of restaurants and shops nearby, everything is within walking (or biking) distance. That makes sightseeing and exploring the city with kids really easy. There are many toys for the kids to play with, so everyone is happy even if the weather should be bad.

We loved our stay at Helmersstraat residence! The neighborhood is fantastic and we had a great time. Marre, the host, met us at the home and was extremely helpful and responsive. Our three year old son loved the toys in the house and the playground across the street. Highly recommend.

The Amsterdam house we stayed in was wonderful, light filled and perfect for our family of 2 adults and 3 small kids. The stairs were steep but we come from San Francisco so our kids are used to such adventures! The house was super clean and character filled and the location was perfect especially for our short, first trip to Amsterdam, we were able to walk or go easily by canal or tram to all the places we needed to be, museums, galleries, parks and train station for European train connections etc. Grocery stores, fab restaurants and ice cream were also within a very short walk of the house.

We had a wonderful time in Amsterdam, it is a beautiful city and The Helmersstraat Residence is in a fantastic location. Easy access to some of the most famous parks, beautiful restaurants nearby and the public transport system is easy to use. The house does have an extremely steep staircase but it also has safety gates. There are plenty of toys and the children's bedroom is beautifully decorated with charming features. The baby room is perfectly set up and very cosy and the kitchen living room was lovely to spend the evenings relaxing in. We even made use of the open fire!

Amsterdam made for a fantastic family-friendly city break and we would definitely considering returning to the city and to Marre's lovely house. The whole place was very spacious and we felt at home from the outset. The toys were perfect for our girls and we appreciated the homely touches and beautiful bunch of flowers left behind. The location was perfect - peaceful but close to the heart of town and we were able to walk everywhere. There was a fantastic local café and Italian restaurant - both within five minutes walk that we returned to many times. Also a great bookshop and baby clothing store. Highly recommended.
