Perks for the Parents
Hide out at this secluded home in the Hollywood Hills, California where you’ll have your own hot tub and a picturesque hillside garden. It sleeps 6. This bungalow is perfect for parents who need a private retreat where they can relax - the interiors are calming and the quiet surroundings are a true escape from the hustle and bustle of the city nearby. You can work from home at the mini office area in the bedroom, or test your fitness on the challenging hill hiking trails nearby. If you prefer to hit the beach, sunny Santa Monica is around half an hour’s drive - from here you can walk or cycle along the sands all the way from Malibu to Venice.
Why Kids Love it
While there are no toys or books for little kids, older children will enjoy hanging out in this grown-up space and chilling in the hot tub (with supervision). The Hollywood Hills are known for their cinematic history, so teens will love the film-related sights here, such as Mulholland Drive and the Hollywood Bowl (both just 10 minutes’ drive). It’s a 15-minute drive to Universal or Warner Bros Studios for tours about their favorite films, as well as the Griffith Observatory for budding astronauts. For days out at the beach, Santa Monica is a great family-friendly neighborhood with rides, amusements and an aquarium on the pier.

About the Location
This neighborhood in the Hollywood Hills, California is 10 minutes’ walk from the entrance trails into Runyon Canyon Park, which feels very secluded and boasts wild hiking routes and beautiful views over the city. It’s only a 10-minute drive from here to the buzzing center of West Hollywood, where there are lots of restaurants, bars and shopping districts. In downtown Hollywood, you can visit the Walk of Fame and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, or head to the exclusive stores in Beverly Hills (also just 10 minutes’ drive). It’s around half an hour away from LAX international airport.
Accommodation Details
The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, all set on 1 floor. The open place living room leads to a dining area and then on to a dining nook connected to the kitchen. The primary bedroom features a kingsize bed, office area and ensuite bathroom with a shower-over-bath. This room also has sliding doors (fitted with blinds) leading out to the hillside garden, where you’ll find a hot tub and a patio with a dining area, BBQ and firepit. The other 2 bedrooms both have queensize beds - 1 also has sliding doors (fitted with blinds) leading outside to another patio area. The second bathroom has a walk-in shower.
Style Notes
Mellow modernist. With its soaring ceilings, unfussy furnishings and eclectic accessories, the hosts have created a dramatic yet welcoming open plan space. Clean and contemporary bedrooms are modern and elegantly simple, while exposed wooden textures in the living room feel architectural rather than rustic. We love the stunning brick floor-to-ceiling fireplace in the living room, the retro-feel of the kitchen and the minty turquoise hues in the family bathroom.
