The Danai Residence
Perks for the Parents
This pretty stone cottage with a pool and sensational sea views, 5 minutes from Kea’s main port and town, promises an unforgettable - and easy - family vacation. It is well equipped with an open plan kitchen, dishwasher and washing machine plus a high chair. The bedrooms are spacious and next to each other; there is stair gate on the staircase. There is an additional double bedroom in the guesthouse, with its own bathroom and private entryway, ideal for grandparents or a nanny.
Why Kids Love it
Kids love the swimming pool area, where they can enjoy the sun and water, and watch the boats coming and going from the port. The lounge area next to it is great for snacks and meals and there is space to play. Some children's toys are provided. The villa is a few minutes’ drive from a beautiful sandy beach, Yaliskari, and also the port and Vourkari, where they can enjoy ice cream. There is 1 baby bed for up to 3 years old, which fits in both main bedrooms; the children's bed is raised off the ground and better for older kids but has a trundle beneath it.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 2 days. No smoking, no pets. Occupancy is strictly up to 7 people plus 1 child under 3. The stairs have a gate at the top. Note that children should be supervised on the small balcony and around the pool, which is only a few steps away from the main house and is ungated. The property is set into a hill and has another house below it, not a sheer cliff. The garden is not ideal for play as it is on a slope and has many plants. The door to the pool is through the kitchen and sitting room area on the ground floor. The owners request that guests look after and respect the house. Note there is no WiFi.
About the Location
The residence is on the island of Kea in the Cyclades Islands, 5 minutes’ drive to and from Korissia port and also Vourkari, which is a small traditional port with restaurants, taverns, bars and boutiques. The port offers all kinds of shops for groceries, meat, fish and also a mini market. It is a short drive to local beaches. To reach the island, fly to Athens International Airport, drive/taxi to Lavrio port and take the ferry to Kea (1 hour 10 minutes). Car hire is recommended for exploring the island. Parking available.

This 2-floor villa has 2 bedrooms on the first floor (a master bedroom with full/double bed and a children's bedroom with a single bed and trundle) and a sitting room with an open kitchen on the ground floor. A roll-out single bed can be added to the kids bedroom on request. There is a private swimming pool and lounge and eating area. The property has a separate guest house with a bedroom with double/full bed and a bathroom with shower plus TV and water heater. It has a private entry and is right next to the main house.
Style Notes
Uplifting, traditional Greek style. This bright, light and stylish island villa, has a calming and uplifting feel, with white and earthy colors dominant in every area, matching the olive green windows and the local stone outer walls of the house. We love the simple luxury vibe and the views of the Aegean, along with the sensational outdoor space and pool.

Kea, Greek Islands
Tranquility, Athenian-Style
Kea is a small, quiet island in the Cyclades archipelago. Apart from the main foreign tourist circuit, yet popular among savvy Athenian families who know how to escape the crowds, this local sanctuary with its sleepy seaside fishing villages, secluded coves, and ancient ruins just might be the best kept secret in the Greek islands.
