Perks for the Parents

A quirky terraced house in a desirable yet residential neighborhood, set between Shepherds Bush and Holland Park. It sleeps 6. This area is ideal for parents visiting the city, with a real mix of parks, museums, shopping streets and transport hubs all within easy reach, so you can find entertainment for toddlers, older kids and teens. It’s close to Kensington Olympia (if you’re visiting for an event) and you can reach all the sights of the city center in less than half hour by tube.

Why Kids Love it

While this house doesn’t have toys or books for kids, it’s a fun and vibrant home that feels welcoming for families and is situated in a residential, family-friendly neighborhood where you can make a safe base for your London travels. It’s just 5 minutes’ walk down the street to Brook Green park and playground, and from Shepherds Bush tube station it’s just 5 minutes to the west side entrance of Hyde Park, where you’ll find the Princess Diana Memorial Playground - one of the best in the city.

Things to Know

The fireplace is ornamental and not for guest use. This is a lived-in home, so you should expect to find homeowner belongings and personal items within the property. This is a residential street so paid-for parking is available, although there may not be spaces available directly outside the property. Sorry - no pets, parties or smoking.

About the Location

This quiet neighborhood is nestled between Holland Park and Shepherds Bush, less than 10 minutes’ walk from Kensington Olympia tube station. You can also access more transport lines at Shepherds Bush (12 minutes’ walk), where there’s a vibrant hub of venues, restaurants and the West London outpost of Westfield shopping mall - great for teens. For parents looking for a more discerning shopping experience, High Street Kensington is also within walking distance. Holland Park is 15 minutes’ walk, home of The Design Museum, and it’s an easy half hour to Heathrow airport by train or taxi.

Accommodation Details

The house has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, set over 4 floors. The main level includes a light-filled living room leading straight to an open plan kitchen/diner, with space to seat 8 and a large skylight offering views of the patio garden. The primary bedroom is located on the top floor, with a kingsize bed and scenic views, as well as an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower and bathtub. Style Notes

Best of British. Showcasing a creative blend of period features and contemporary design, you’ll find slick, light-filled interiors in the modern kitchen and dining area, alongside homely comforts of the hearth in the living room, with its classic furnishings and antique paintings. We love the unique dresser in the kitchen, which adds a globally-traveler touch, as well as the mix-and-match artwork in the living area and the beautiful crittall-style doors to the garden.

Kensington & Chelsea, London

Hyde Park, Harrods and Her Majesty

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has a certain cachet. It’s where you’ll find Buckingham Palace, Sloane Square, the King’s Road, Harrods and many of the most upmarket stores and areas of the city. For kids, Hyde Park is a must-do, whether you go boating on the Serpentine on summer or enjoy the kid-friendly cafés around it. It’s a central area very well connected with the rest of the city by bus and Tube.
