Perks for the Parents

A quirky mews house just a short walk from the city’s museums in Kensington, with flexible bedroom options. It sleeps 5. Parents will love this central location - you’ll be set between many of West London’s best spots. The beautiful green Hyde Park is within walking distance, as are the popular eateries of Fulham Road, and the shopping streets of High St Kensington.

Why Kids Love it

It’s an easy 10-minute walk down to the city’s most famous family museums: the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum and the V&A museum. For musical wannabes, there’s a piano where kids can try out some tunes, and the kids bedrooms have a few toys and books to entertain them during their stay.

Things to Know

No smoking, pets or parties. The lead guest must be at least 25 years old. All guests will receive a rental agreement prior to their stay which must be signed and submitted. Car hire is not necessary here as there are bus stops and subway stations within easy reach, and taxis available to hire from the nearby Cromwell Road.

About the Location

The house is located in Kensington, just 6 minutes’ walk from Gloucester Road subway station. The Royal Albert Hall is nearby (15 minutes’ walk) which faces Hyde Park, as is the Design Museum and Holland Park (20 minutes’ walk). The sights of Soho, Southbank and the City are around half an hour away by bus or subway. Heathrow Airport is around 45 minutes by car or subway/train.

Accommodation Details

This home enters to the open plan living/dining room, with a desk area by the window for a compact work space and a separate kitchen with breakfast bar. This floor also has a utility room with a walk-in shower and WC. Upstairs, there is a primary bedroom with 2 single beds (connected to create a kingsize bed); a kids bedroom with 2 single beds, and a third single bedroom.

Style Notes

Traditional mews house. Situated on a quiet cobbled street with a historic brick archway entrance, this period home is compact yet charming, with a simple neutral palette. We love the original windows, the brick-style tiling in the kitchen and the London-inspired touches in the kids rooms.

Kensington & Chelsea, London

Hyde Park, Harrods and Her Majesty

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has a certain cachet. It’s where you’ll find Buckingham Palace, Sloane Square, the King’s Road, Harrods and many of the most upmarket stores and areas of the city. For kids, Hyde Park is a must-do, whether you go boating on the Serpentine on summer or enjoy the kid-friendly cafés around it. It’s a central area very well connected with the rest of the city by bus and Tube.
