This gorgeous Malibu home includes a large garden with soccer nets, spacious living areas and plenty for families. Close to the beach, the house serves up spectacular ocean views from the master bedroom and living room. The open layout makes relaxing easy; kids can play while adults work, cook or chill out. Set close to the Getty Villa, guests have the use of a pass offering free entry anytime without reservation. The neighborhood is quiet and has sidewalks.

Why Kids Love it

The house is wonderful for kids: close to the beach with ocean views and a large garden with soccer nets, it also includes a kids bedroom with bunk bed, toys and books. The neighborhood is very family friendly, and has streets filled with children riding bikes, skateboarding and more. The house is on a cul-de-sac, making it perfect for kids to safely play outside. It is very safe and secluded. The closest beach is under a kilometre away. A crib and high chair can be provided on request.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 5 days. The house has ungated stairs that are not steep; there are steps down to the garden, which has a waterfall. The Jacuzzi is covered, but children should be supervised in and around it. The house is not baby-proofed. Housekeeping is available at anytime (please request with the host) and the owners can suggest restaurants and fun things to do in the area. Car rental is essential: many things are a drive away and public transportation is limited.

About the Location

The house is in southern Malibu, around a 10-minute drive from Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica and Malibu city center. It is walking distance from a beautiful beach and the Getty Villa (rental includes a pass for 8 people), and minutes from hikes and world-class surf beaches. There are movie theaters and lots of great restaurants close by, and the house is a 10-minute drive to the metro, which allows you to go downtown LA while avoiding traffic. LAX airport is a 30-minute drive away.

Accommodation Details

This 3-level home has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The lower level includes 1 bathroom and 1 bedroom with queensize bed, plus a living room, dining room and kitchen. The upper level has a master bedroom with kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom, second bedroom with queensize bed and third bedroom with bunk bed. There is a shared bathroom on this level. Bathrooms have showers and baths. The garden includes a barbecue, fire pit and waterfall.

Style Notes

Luxurious and comfortable. With light-filled spaces, ocean views and a lovely garden, this property makes a great home-from-home in the Malibu area. The layout of the house is great for families: kids can be sleeping upstairs while adults are entertaining downstairs. The ocean views are spectacular from the master and living room. We love the outdoor kitchen in the garden, the large-scale modern art and the lovely lounge areas inside and out.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
Guests get a 50% refund if they cancel less than 3 weeks before their stay. If they cancel anytime before that they get a full refund less the $150 Kid & Coe cancellation charge. In addition to the host’s policy which is listed here, all cancellations are subject to a Kid & Coe cancellation fee of 15% of the booking total.

Malibu has starred in so many films, TV shows and music videos that it needs its own Equity card. Get ready to snap the kids playing on the beach from Planet of the Apes - or if they’re tweens, the spot where One Direction shot a video. The beaches here are wonderful and you’re sure to find a quiet spot somewhere; don’t miss hiking the canyons (there are even stroller-friendly walks), buying kitsch souvenirs on Malibu Pier and watching surfers ride big waves.

We had the best time as a family of 5 in the Kingsport Drive Residence. Kathleen was so helpful, welcoming and available for any questions we had throughout our stay - an ideal host. The house was perfect for what we needed: amazing layout with a wonderful outside space for our kids to explore. The kitchen had the perfect amenities and a pleasure to cook Thanksgiving in for our family. The furniture was very comfortable and ideal bedrooms to accommodate 3 young children. The location was also great - having lived in LA for a decade I never knew about this little part of Malibu so well located to Santa Monica yet nicely detached. The house sits on a quiet cul de sac which made walking, running and scooting really fun and easy. Highly recommend and would love to return!

The Kingsport Drive Residence was beautiful. It has everything we needed, and a great back yard for the kids to play. Kathleen was extremely nice and accommodating (we had a last minute change due to my husband getting the flu!), but it all worked out seamlessly. The house was convenient and well appointed and we loved the style. We would definitely stay here again if we came back.
