Perks for the Parents

This 5-bedroom villa with its own private tennis/basketball court in Mykonos is perfect for family travellers, fully stocked with toys and books for under-12s with the most child-friendly beach on the island a 2-minute drive away. There is a projector for screening your own poolside outdoor cinema or cozy indoor movie nights, and a thoughtful glass barrier separating the pergola area from the pool and infinity deck, making a stay with small children much easier and secure. A mini outdoor gym (shaded, with sea views) adds to the appeal.

Why Kids Love it

The villa boasts plenty of kid-appeal for children of all ages, and is particularly well set up for school-age kids and teens. The residence is fully stocked with toys and books for under-12s, with plenty of pool toys, pool floats, paddling pools and sand toys for the beach. There are 2 toddler-to-teen extendable beds, 4 cribs, 4 high chairs and 2 junior chairs. There is a laundry room and additional play room in the lower ground floor.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 4 days. The residence is gated, with ample private parking for 3 cars. There is no stairgate to the upstairs master suite; all other living space is on the ground floor. The house and pergola areas are secure thanks to the gated glass divider and are suitable for unsupervised play; small children should however be supervised in the sundeck, main pool area and northern parking where there is limited drop-off protection. The pool does not have a shallow area and is best for children who can swim independently or with flotation items. There is excellent mobile and internet/WiFi connectivity thanks to a Starlink connection, as well as digital entertainment options, but also the in-built option of switching those off for a digital detox. The villa is partially airconditioned (two bedrooms) - there are ceiling fans in all bedrooms and plenty of breezes. A new outdoor mini-gym with views has been installed under the wooden deck and has a premium water rower machine, stationary bike, TRX, weights, yoga mats etc.

About the Location

The residence (also known as ‘The Gorge’) is in the stunning rocky landscape of the sought-after south of Mykonos, a 10-minute drive from the airport, 15 minutes from Mykonos town, and 10 minutes from picturesque Ano Mera and its traditional village square. It is perched on the tranquil hillside of a stunning natural gorge overlooking the Aegean Sea and Agrari Beach. The beautiful sandy beach is a 2-minute drive away and is an ideal relaxed family spot with a large stretch of unspoilt unorganised beach, as well as an organised part with a traditional taverna, sun loungers, a tree-shaded cocktail bar and water sports. About a dozen other superb beaches are within a 20-minute drive range, with plenty of beach clubs and restaurants.

Accommodation Details

This 5-bedroom, 5-bathroom family villa with pool is set in a 5,000 sqm private plot and includes an open indoor-outdoor main living space with living room, dining area, wind-protected, shaded pergola area, a gated pool with cliff-hanger deck, a full-sized multi-sports court (tennis and basketball), an outdoor shaded mini-gym and an additional part-shaded outdoor chill-out area. There are 3 double bedrooms on the ground floor, including a children's room with 2 twin beds, a large en-suite family bedroom room with queensize bed and double sofa bed, and a further bedroom with queensize bed. There are also 2 bathrooms with shower only. The master suite is on the top floor and features a kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom with shower. An additional bedroom in the lower ground floor (with separate bathroom with shower) has its own separate entrance, offering extra privacy and being ideal for a nanny, teenagers or a couple.

Style Notes

Modern bohemian. The Cycladic-style villa has modern, relaxed Myconian interior design including micro-cement flooring and stone masonry. The decor uses natural materials and features a vinyl player with a curated collection of records, colorful modern art and a multi-language library of eclectic summer reads. Guests receive a gift booklet with off-the-beaten track recommendations on where to swim, play, shop, eat and drink in Mykonos, annually updated by the owners. We love the thoughtful touches and the natural colors throughout.

I'm a Swede living with my Greek husband and two young daughters in London. This is our vacation home where we love hanging out with family and friends.

Mykonos, Greek Islands

Windmills, yacht tours and beaches

This arid, sunny Cyclades island, 25 minutes by plane from Athens, is known for its nightlife and its cosmopolitan scene. But insiders know that there’s more to the island than its reputation suggests. With sandy beaches, 16th Century windmills and sensational sunsets, it’s got typical Greek appeal. Enjoy geckos scaling the walls, sunset cocktails, black olives in Greek salads and days spent at the beach.

We loved our stay at the Agrari Beach house — Panos and Ia provided amazing recommendations and the house manager Tonia was so helpful and responsive. The house itself is gorgeous and has stunning views, and plenty of space for husband, me, two young kids, grandparents and aunt. We also were surprised at how kid-friendly much of Mykonos is, we never felt out of place with our 3 and 5 year old in tow. Hope to come back someday!

We had an amazing holiday at The Agrari Beach Residence. The house is beautifully designed and very comfortable. The outdoor area is stunning. The pool is very deep, so it wasn’t ideal for our young children who aren’t confident swimmers, so we spent less time at the pool that we otherwise might have. This was the only slight negative. The pool gates meant we could enjoy the holiday and relax outside without being on constant look out for our toddler. The beach at the end of the road is stunning and the local restaurant very good and friendly. We would definitely return. Ia was lovely and very helpful and the management company in Mykonos were great. Thank you again!

The house is beautiful designed and furnished and perfect especially for small kids. A quite, peaceful location in the countryside - but just a few minutes drive to the the most beautiful beaches and restaurants. Ia is a very professional host. We can highly recommend The Agrari Beach Residence.

Ia was such an amazing host and made sure we were prepared for our trip, even stocking our fridge and checking in during the stay via email. The home was beautiful and serene, simply decorated yet cozy... with soft sheets and large soft towels. My boys loved the kids bedroom. Only issue for us was the pool was much deeper than we thought so the very young ones werent able to swim as much as they would have preferred, and the concierge attached to the house at the time had some misses. The home and host were lovely and we look forward to going back!
