Perks for the Parents

A peaceful beachfront retreat graced by an unspoiled sandy beach and clear turquoise waters, ideal for families and groups of friends. It sleeps 14. It is the one of the only villas in Mykonos where a deserted, pristine beach can be found literally on your doorstep, just a few steps away from the main house. This is the perfect place for guests who want to live the authentic beach life in simple bohemian elegance and luxury. The windows open to inviting, expansive terraces shaded by pergolas with large-cushioned day beds and hammocks, where several living corners are formed: a pool area with sun beds to relax or stargaze at night, various cozy areas in which to read, and dining areas for relaxed meals, all with superb, uninterrupted sea views and the sounds of the water.

Why Kids Love it

Children under 10 will love the house because they can spend all day at the beach playing, swimming, kayaking (2 kayaks and 2 SUP boards are available) and feeling independent, with the house just on the shore to run back for snacks or naps. There's also a beach tent providing shade exclusively for guests, plus flippers and masks for snorkeling. You can have a BBQ on the beach for an easy family dinner and there’s an outdoor heated shower for sandy toes too. The house has multiple outdoor areas with hammocks for relaxing and spacious outdoor areas where they can play freely - they’ll love the ping pong table and foosball table. The pool area is also ideal for relaxing on sun beds and daily swims (4 x 8m and 1.8m deep). Ask the host if you require a baby car seat for travel, crib or a high chair.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 1 week. Pets are welcome on request. The pool is not gated. AC and/or fans are provided in all rooms. All doors and windows have mosquito screens. The host will meet and greet you on arrival - they are usually on site to help with any issues but the estate is completely private and guests have exclusive use of all areas. The rates include a housekeeping staff of two to clean and serve breakfast. Change of linens is twice a week; change of towels is daily. Personal laundry and ironing can be charged in addition (120 euro/load). A private chef is available upon request at extra cost - this is highly recommended and can include preparing one or two meals per day, daily food shopping, sourcing of fine organic products and cleaning up the kitchen. Massage treatments and yoga lessons are available on request for an additional fee. The estate has 3 additional properties which can be rented at an additional cost. Firstly, a separate Beach Cottage (2000EUR pd) with 1 double bedroom + en-suite shower, 1 large single bedroom +ensuite shower, plus a kitchen and sofa. This cottage has it’s own private road leading to it and doesn't share the same access road as the main house. Secondly, there is also an additional social area, 'Taverna', which can be rented by guests for chilling, lunch or dinner (1000EUR pd). Thirdly, there is also an option for an extra single bedroom with ensuite shower room upon request for additional cost - ask the host for details.

About the Location

The property is located right on the secluded sandy shores of Myrsini, in the far north of the island. The area is sheltered from the prevailing north wind and is made up of 4 buildings set in 80,000sqm of land - the largest private estate in Mykonos by far. The host owns other buildings on the estate: the main house is at the top, with the Beach Cottage in front, the 'Taverna' at the right and the additional single bedroom building next to the main house. The guests in the main house will have the estate exclusively, but can hire these 3 additional buildings for an extra fee - ask the hosts for details. It’s a 10-minute drive from Ano Mera which is the closest village for groceries and a supermarket. The nearest taverna is at Fokos Beach (3 minutes’ drive). It’s around half an hour from the airport and 20 minutes to Mykonos Town. Car rental is essential on the island.

Accommodation Details

The villa has 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, set over 2 floors. A private driveway leads to the main house and a few steps below lies the stone house, whose roof forms part of the huge terrace of the main house. You’ll find a well-equipped kitchen with a stove, oven, coffee marker, espresso machine and dishwasher. There are indoor and outdoor dining areas for 12 people (plus a high chair). There are 4 double bedrooms (bedrooms 1, 3, 5, 7), 2 twin rooms sleeping 2 (bedrooms 2 and 6) and 2 single bedrooms (bedrooms 4 and 8). All bedrooms are ensuite apart from bedroom 4, which shares a bathroom with bedroom 3. The bathrooms all have showers, no bathtubs.

Style Notes

Rustic Luxury. The location, decoration and ambience of the villa is so unique that numerous filming and magazine photo shoots have taken place here. The villa blends sophisticated open plan lounging and dining areas decorated with an eclectic mix of traditional materials and furnishings. Reclaimed wood, old doors, antique tiles and marble fragments have all been used to create a house which looks as if it stood there forever, yet was built from scratch. We love the old store fireplace, the authentic tiles in the bathrooms and kitchen, as well as the quirky curved walls creating showers, nooks and storage areas.

I built this house for my family. I’ve enjoyed my summers in Mykonos for many years ( since 1965). This is why i built this house following the local architecture. All materials come from old mykonian houses. The feeling of the house is unique and guests that have an eye for appreciating the design become repeaters .Because it is the only house in Mykonos with such a respect for the local architecture .

Mykonos, Greek Islands

Windmills, yacht tours and beaches

This arid, sunny Cyclades island, 25 minutes by plane from Athens, is known for its nightlife and its cosmopolitan scene. But insiders know that there’s more to the island than its reputation suggests. With sandy beaches, 16th Century windmills and sensational sunsets, it’s got typical Greek appeal. Enjoy geckos scaling the walls, sunset cocktails, black olives in Greek salads and days spent at the beach.
