Perks for the Parents
This fabulous 2-bedroom apartment on the top 2 floors of an 1890 shotgun home is close to parks, a 5-minute walk to Frenchman Street and a stone's throw from hundreds of incredible restaurants. Well-appointed for a family stay, it has a full kitchen and dining area for up to 8 guests. Rooms are comfortable yet stylish, and furnished with a mix of antique and contemporary pieces from New Orleans and around the world. The den includes a sofa that folds out into a comfortable futon-style bed, ideal for kids or a nanny/au pair.
Why Kids Love it
The residence has ample family space that's ideally suited for babies or children over 4, but can appropriately accommodate any age. Steep stairs mean that toddlers will need an extra hand. The den is equipped with an Apple TV - perfect for playtime and movie nights. A pack’n’play, high chair, and toys can be provided upon request. The bathroom has a clawfoot tub for bath time, and there is a fenced back yard. The property is a short walk to Crescent Park, a fully-fenced 3-mile waterfront stretch of the Mississippi.
Things to Know
Minimum stay is 2-4 days, depending on the season. The flat is accessed via a secured gate and an external staircase. A private backyard (shared with the owners) provides space for kids to run around. The staircase that leads to the upstairs bedroom is rather steep for young children and is not gated. Street parking is readily available on non-holiday days. Car rental is useful but not essential in this highly walkable and central location. While there is no washer-dryer in the unit, one can be made available on request.
About the Location
The residence is in the heart of the Marigny, under 5 minutes’ walk to Frenchman Street, a 10-minute walk to the French Quarter, and a stone's throw from hundreds of incredible restaurants. The family-friendly residential neighborhood has a laid-back bohemian vibe through its quaint, palm-lined streets, sidewalk cafes, and jazz clubs. The closest airport is Louis Armstrong New Orleans airport, approximately 25 minutes’ drive away.

Historical charm. The apartment has been recently renovated with an intent to honor the original beauty and history of the home, while bringing a new depth of warmth, personality and functionality to each space. New Orleans, Louisiana
Beignets, jazz and streetcar tours
This rich city has so much to offer families it’s hard to know where to start. Beyond its impressive architecture and inspiring musical heritage, it’s got fantastic food (beignets, anyone?), zoos, aquariums and a slew of superb museums. You can try Mardi Gras costumes on at the Mardi Gras Museum, explore voodoo at the New Orleans Historic Voodoo Museum or pilot a tugboat at the Louisiana Children’s Museum. Explore the city by streetcar or steamboat, visit alligator swamps and haunted mansions, or just dig into plates of insanely delicious food and enjoy the ride.
