Perks for the Parents

This secluded, eco-friendly, and very private villa, with sea views, a swimming pool, outdoor terraces, lemon trees and tree house, is a short drive from the beach and the Vendicari Nature Reserve. It sleeps up to 10. The villa is made up of 2 separate buildings: Vendicari Senior (sleeps up to 8) and Vendicari Junior (sleeps 2), which can fit 2 families or extended family with extra privacy. There are 2 full kitchens and a family sized dining area, bunkbeds for the kids and a spacious master bedroom with a soaking tub. Relax by the pool, grill local seafood on the stone BBQ or get out and explore the excellent restaurants and food stalls, sandy beaches, Baroque towns, vineyards and Roman mosaics.

Why Kids Love it

The house is set a natural playground of large gardens with hundreds of trees including carob trees, lemon, orange, persimmon, figs, kumquats, almond, pepper, pomegranate, and different varieties of oaks. The tree house is an attraction but only suitable for kids over 10 when unaccompanied. The house is located in the nature reserve and is close to 6 sandy beaches – you can walk (about 20 mins) or drive (5 mins). The nearby town of Syracuse is great for exploring by foot and it has a Roman archaeological park, plus plenty of restaurants and gelateria. For a day trip, Mount Etna and the rip-roaring adventure park of EtnaLand is a 1 hr, 45 mins away.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 5 nights. The villa can be rented as a whole or Vendicari Senior and Vendicari Junior are available separately in low season (November through March except Christmas-New Years). The host is also interested in exchanges. Safety notes: the swimming pool has a safety cover but children should be supervised around it. Unaccompanied children should not be allowed on the top terrace of the Vendicari Senior' terrace and should be supervised in the treehouse. The pool is not heated but covered and so useable all year round. Up to 2 people can sleep in a tent erected in the treehouse. The villa has an eco washing machine and bio bathroom products are provided. There is parking for up to 6 cars. Weekly cleaning and linen changes are included. There is AC.

About the Location

The villa is located within the boundaries of the Vendicari National Park in the province of Syracuse, Sicily. It’s walking distance to Vendicari beach which is sandy with shallow waters and has the renown Tonnara di Vendicari. The beaches of Calamosche (voted the best Italian beach in 2006), Eloro, Marianelli, San Lorenzo, Carratois are all within a 10 min drive with crystalline, warm waters. The nearest town is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Noto, a 15-minute drive, with Roman and Greek ruins, Baroque churches and fascinating architecture. Fly into Catania Fontanarossa Airport that’s just over an hour’s drive.

Accommodation Details

This villa has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 8 in beds, with 2 on a double sofabed if required. In Vendicari Senior there is a kitchen with a table seating up to 10 and a living room with a TV and bench / sofa. This villa has 3 bedrooms: 1 full / double master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with a shower and tub, 1 full / double bedroom and a kids’ room with bunkbeds. Vendicari Junior has its own kitchenette, living room with double sofabed and 1 full / double bedroom and bathroom with a shower. The roof terrace has loungers, chairs and table, and a BBQ. All double beds can be divided into 2 single / twin beds. Outside is 20000 m2 of gardens with fruit trees, a BBQ, swimming pool, 2 heated showers and a treehouse.

Rural, minimalist beauty. This architecturally stunning building blends effortlessly with its abundant natural environment. The interior is thoughtfully decorated with clean lines and contemporary furniture. There are superb views of the sea, surrounding carob and olive groves, and the nature reserve from the roof terraces and the beautiful beaches of Vendicari are only 5 minutes away. We love the al fresco dining space where you can eat surrounded by the scent of jasmine, the lovely open space of the living room that flows to the outside through sliding doors, and the modern simplicity of smooth white floors and walls – less is definitely more here.

When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
