Why Kids Love it

There is a pack-and-play in the home, and additional baby items can be procured upon request. It is a short walk to public transit to reach the city’s famous historic sites. There is a public library in the neighborhood, a children's boutique store that hosts puppet shows, sing-alongs, and story time, and multiple parks and playgrounds all within walking distance.

Things to Know

Car rental is not essential as the residence is in a highly walkable neighborhood. There is no designated parking space. The street parking is timed, though with advanced notice and additional fee ($35), a pack of daily parking passes can purchsed. There are blocks in the neighborhood that are untimed, and so a car may be parked there for the duration without incurring a ticket. Check the street signs.

Fishtown is an easily accessible neighborhood, just to the northeast of downtown Philadelphia, and adjacent to I-95. It is a 20-minute drive to the airport, and the subway (Girard stop on the Market Frankford El) is 4 blocks away.

Style Notes

Vintage and modern. The house has vintage touches and a generally eclectic decor with modern touches mixing with older, more sentimental pieces. Big windows allow plenty of natural light. The house has 2 staircases, a front staircase and a butler’s stairwell leading from the open living room and kitchen to the second floor. We love the welcoming lounge with its yellow sofas, the historic feel and the family-friendly feel throughout.

Hi! My husband, Bryan, and I, along with our 9 year old, 6 year old, and 4 year old love to host travelling families at our home since we love to travel as well! Some of our favorite destinations so far have been Hawaii, Montreal, the Pacific NW and Portugal. We enjoy fine wine (and milk for our littles) and trying new foods. As a family, we are always up for checking out historical and cultural sites, as well as visiting museums and exploring the outdoors. We hope to host you on your latest adventure!

Such easy going hosts- Emily was available via text during our stay- and made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable! Neighborhood is perfect too, with lots of cute shops, great breakfast options etc. Our only complaint (haha) is that our stay was too short and we didn't have more time to explore how awesome Philly is! Highly recommend!

My family had an excellent stay at the Marlborough Residence! The location could not be better. Walking distance to parks, restaurants, coffee shops, whatever you need! The home is lovely and BIG. Five bedrooms with three FULL baths made the trip so easy. Not to mention all the awesome toys - it made packing so much easier knowing we were coming into a house fully equipped for kiddos. And even the kitchen was stocked! Thanks, Emily! You made our stay great and we can't wait to come back.
