Style Notes
Scandi chic. Designed by one of the UK’s leading architects in radically transforming old buildings for modern purposes, this homely residence is a showcase example. Although featured in a range of interiors and architect magazines, the residence is very much designed with laid back fun, relaxation and family life in mind. Living and play areas are cleverly connected, and divided, with peek-through wooden pillars adding coziness while the statement Hay dining table - a Danish classic - appropriately sits at the heart of the home, designed to accommodate large family mealtimes. Huge picture windows flood in natural light throughout and compliment the Scandinavian aesthetic, uplifting Douglas Fir wood features, designer furniture, and plush textiles on sofas, cushions and rugs. A mix of vintage and modern finds, including art work and furnishings, add character while warm neutral walls, and light wood floors help set them off. We love the primary loft room – newly extended and cleverly designed to incorporate bookshelf nooks, a hidden dressing area and a sumptuous ensuite with warm Tadelakt walls and luxurious marble.
