This residence has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, set over 3 floors. The downstairs is a large open plan space incorporating a kitchen fully stocked with everything a guest would expect in addition to Le Creuset cookware and a Nutribullet blender. There is a play zone just behind the kitchen as well as to the right where there’s a sofa and floor to ceiling glass windows/door leading out to the family-sized garden (a mix of patio and lawn with benches, festoon lighting and outdoor games). The dining area is at the heart of the house, separated from the kitchen by wooden pillars, with a statement Hay design dining table seating 7. Upstairs on the first floor are the 2 kids’ bedrooms, prettily decorated with a single bed in each, desk space and plenty of toys. The second bedroom is also on this floor with a queensize bed. It shares the family bathroom with a double sink and a bathtub. Upstairs again to the second floor is the primary suite, architect-designed with a kingsize bed, floating wall with bookshelves concealing a dressing area, and a luxury ensuite bathroom with marble detailing and a walk-in shower.

Style Notes

Scandi chic. Designed by one of the UK’s leading architects in radically transforming old buildings for modern purposes, this homely residence is a showcase example. Although featured in a range of interiors and architect magazines, the residence is very much designed with laid back fun, relaxation and family life in mind. Living and play areas are cleverly connected, and divided, with peek-through wooden pillars adding coziness while the statement Hay dining table - a Danish classic - appropriately sits at the heart of the home, designed to accommodate large family mealtimes. Huge picture windows flood in natural light throughout and compliment the Scandinavian aesthetic, uplifting Douglas Fir wood features, designer furniture, and plush textiles on sofas, cushions and rugs. A mix of vintage and modern finds, including art work and furnishings, add character while warm neutral walls, and light wood floors help set them off. We love the primary loft room – newly extended and cleverly designed to incorporate bookshelf nooks, a hidden dressing area and a sumptuous ensuite with warm Tadelakt walls and luxurious marble.

We had a wonderful stay at Alice's Doyle Gardens residence. The house is perfect for families with young children. We appreciated all the thoughtful and whimsical touches that kept our girls happy, entertained and safe throughout our stay. The play area that opened onto the beautiful backyard and the peaceful primary suite on the top floor were some of our favorite features. We would absolutely stay again and highly recommend to others.
