Perched on 3 acres of wooded hillside, this peaceful retreat has views of nature at every turn, with Hudson Valley fun within easy reach. Score local produce and meats at the local farm stores for home cooked meals or stroll the countless charming towns nearby for treats. The area is beautiful in all seasons and there is never a shortage of places to explore. The house offers plenty of space for families to relax and for kids to run and play in the surroundings. Parents will appreciate the primary kingsize bedroom upstairs with an ensuite bathroom and private balcony with mountain views, while the downstairs bedroom and bathroom would be ideal for a nanny or grandparents.
Why Kids Love it
The residence is stocked with toys, books and art supplies for children under 10, including a play kitchen and wooden Montessori toys. Outside is a play structure, ping pong table, and hammock. There is plenty of room to run around and explore. Roast marshmallows in the fire pit (wood and kindling are provided) or enjoy a family BBQ on the blue stone patio. Kids will also like the kid-sized picnic table and the slack lines and swings in the yard. A high chair is available on request.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 3 nights. Max capacity of 6 guests (2 per bedroom). The house is safe and secure with a keypad entry and a door chime to notify when anyone is driving up the driveway. To make the most of your peaceful surroundings, there is no TV, but there is a projector and laptop connection for movie nights. The windows do not have curtains to enjoy the views of nature (so bring your sleep mask). The house is non-smoking everywhere and pets are not allowed. The owners provide artisanal whole bean coffee and eco-friendly body wash, conditioner, hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, sponges, and dishwasher pods. There are childproof door stoppers on both sliding doors (kitchen/living area as well as upstairs in primary suite) so they cannot be opened when placed in the door track. There is a whole house generator in the event of inclement weather power outages and there is a security camera on the property. Please note, there is a steep incline to the driveway.
About the Location
This home is in Staatsburg, New York, equidistant from the lovely towns of Rhinebeck and Millbrook. They both offer restaurants, cafes and shops the whole family can enjoy. The area is full of hiking trails, antique shops, farmer's markets, and small farms with fresh local produce and meats. You’ll be just minutes from the Omega Institute and 25 minutes from the Culinary Institute of America (Hyde Park). There are plenty of other charming towns nearby to explore, including Red Hook, Milan, Germantown, Tivoli, and Millerton. Hunter Mountain and Windham Ski resort areas are about an hour's drive from the house.
Accommodation Details
This residence has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and is on 2 floors. Downstairs is an open chef’s kitchen, a living room that opens to a deck and a bedroom with a full / double bed and a twin / single bed, plus a full bathroom with a shower. Upstairs is a kingsize primary bedroom with an ensuite with a shower, walk-in closet and private balcony with a mountain view. There’s also a dedicated workspace and WiFi here. Bedroom 3 has a queensize bed and a single / twin bed. It accesses a separate full bathroom with a shower. A toddler bed is available in the living room. Outside is private woodland, a fire pit, and outdoor dining.

Soft grays and natural wood textures don’t distract from the real focus – the views of the trees through the endless windows. The kitchen is a chef’s dream in white gloss with practical but beautiful appliances. Bedrooms have high quality linens in gentle colors and are accented with rugs from the owner's travels. We love the modern sophisticated style, the peaceful location, and the toys to keep the kids happy for hours.
