Perks for the Parents
This cottage close to Cape Columbo on the north side of Santorini shares a pool with 2 other cottages and is spacious, secluded and beautifully designed. Measuring 204 sqm and set on private land of 8000 sqm, the cottage is 150m from quiet Cape Columbo beach. The village of Oia is 3.5km away for all supplies. Sit in the garden, swing in the hammock, play in the pool or enjoy time spent on the beach: this property is well placed for family fun in Santorini.
Why Kids Love it
The property is a short walk from the beach and has a shared private pool with 2 other cottages, offering a chance to swim, play and make friends with similar families. The more patient visitor will have the chance to discover a place full of unique creatures, from rare migratory birds and owls, to dragonflies, hares, hedgehogs and turtles. There are plenty of toys and books provided for kids.
Things to Know
The minimum stay is a week. FYI: the open tread staircase makes this a better choice for those with children over 5; one bedroom opens to the stairs and has a low barrier and is not suitable for children aged under 5. There is a parking place outside the cottage. Maximum capacity is 10 guests. The swimming pool is gated and set away from the house. It is part of a boutique complex of 3 self catering cottages sharing the same 8,000 sqm of private land.
About the Location
The residence is in the north of Santorini, 3.5km from cosmopolitan Oia and next to the Colombo undersea volcano. Cape Columbo Beach is 150m away. Car rental is essential for getting around the island, and particularly in this quiet and remote part. Thira is a 30-minute drive away, while the island’s main port, for ferry arrivals, is a 45-minute drive away. Santorini airport is a 30-minute drive away. Private airport transfers can be arranged on request.
Accommodation Details
This 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom cottage has a kitchen, bathroom and living room with sofa bed on the ground floor. There is a large dinner table inside and another in the garden. Bedrooms are upstairs: each has 2 double beds. There is also a bathroom upstairs. As typical of Greece, both bathrooms have showers, not tubs. The outside space includes 2 paved courtyards sheltered by pergolas with marble tables, benches, garden chairs and a hammock. The 14-meter swimming pool and surrounding sun loungers are shared with 2 other properties.
Style Notes
Strictly Cycladic. The architecture is Cycladic in style, and the houses are made from natural local materials and designed with traditional Cycladic bioclimatic principles to make them cool in summer without the need for air conditioning. Furniture throughout has been collected from Santorini or made to order by local technicians. Decor includes a variety of art pieces, ceramics, paintings, icons and book collections. We love the curved ceiling at the top, the rainbow-striped hammock and the location, a stroll from the beach.

Santorini, Greek Islands
Volcanic beaches and playful dolphins
One of the Cyclades most characterful islands, Santorini is set on an underwater volcano with rugged cliffs, outlying islands and multicolored sand beaches. Find shade at lunchtime by wandering the narrow cobbled streets of Fira, get fantastic views of the port by cable car from the cliffs above it and watch for dolphins bursting through the clear water on boat trips around the caldera.
