The 9th arrondissement location is great for visiting the Opera, Montmartre and more, and there are easy public transport links nearby to take you around the city. We love the well traveled trinkets, the masks on the walls and the ‘vache qui rit’ bust in the kitchen.

This apartment belongs to me Martine. I am the mother of 3 grown ups (who live in Paris and London), and the proud grand mother of 3 fun grand children who live in London and often come to visit me in Paris at home. I am a painter, and love travelling around the world. There are lots of books and toys and DVDs at home that my grand children enjoy when they visit. Or I take them around to the playground on Avenue Trudaine, to the merry go round just nearby or for waffles and crepes on Rue des Martyrs. I Joined Kid & Coe because I travel a lot so it's nice for me to make a bit of money to pay for my trips. Our apartment is bright, spacious and a mix of Parisian-traditional with contemporary designs. Everyone feels at home here, it's comfortable and very convenient for the family.

The 9th arrondissement, Paris

Shopping and the opera

This right bank neighborhood is well known for its fabulous department stores and the Paris Opera. Montmartre is within strolling distance, rue des Martyrs, with its fantastic foodie shops, is close by and there are easy links to the other key parts of the city, making this a neighborhood that works for a long or short stay. Tip: don't just browse the Grands Magasins - head up to their rooftop terraces for a glittering view of the city.

Great location right on Rue des Martyrs. Our son loved the carousel just outside the door! The apartment was large for Paris and had a good kitchen. Supermarket nearby along with all the food shops and restaurants / bars / cafes you could ever need. As mentioned in other reviews there are some really nice pieces of art and delicate items around the apartment that I was worried about with a toddler. There were also very strong scents which we had to remove the sources of (pot pourri etc). One final note - the listing as 2.5 bathrooms means something different in this posting than it would in North America or the UK/Ireland. The 2.5 was one room with a bath/shower; one en-suite shower and one standalone toilet room (just one toilet for the three bedrooms). Worth being aware of, especially if you have a larger group staying.

Our family LOVED staying in this apartment! It was so much space for our family of 4 and also the perfect location. My youngest loved the carousel right outside the apartment, and all of us loved the close proximity to all the amazing shops and cafes. Getting around by bus and the metro was also very convenient. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay, and we really enjoyed watching movies on the projection screen in the evenings. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you, Martine, for sharing your beautiful apartment with us!

We had a fantastic stay at Martine’s lovely apartment. It is located in a quintessential Parisian neighborhood which was refreshing family friendly. Our eighteen month old son had a blast with the toys, and had comfortable sleeping options, in the kid’s bedroom. Martine was extremely hospitable and responsive, particularly when I left our travel car seat after our check out. We hope to visit again soon.

We had a wonderful stay at Martine’s beautiful home. It is the perfect location in a beautiful residential neighborhood within Paris, so close to everything. But it was hard leaving the immediate surroundings because the area is full of wonderful bakeries, shops, and restaurants. The inside is at once historic and elegant, but gracious and family friendly — our children (9 year old twins) loved it as much as we did. I can’t imagine a better place to stay in Paris.

It is an absolutely beautiful apartment - high ceilings, full of art and other cool stuff, and it was always warm and smelled amazing. It is in a great area - walking distance to Sacre-Coeur and the little 'train' around Montmatre, and is even walkable to Gare to Nord for the Eurostar, and is well connected for other sights - we took a bus to Eiffel Tower - and there are loads of great shops, restaurants etc. nearby. This is a wonderful apartment to enjoy Paris from. Martine was very helpful and easy to deal with. The only things to note if you have younger kids is the slight worry about breaking any of the cool decorations in the apartment, and also the restaurants at the front are a bit noisy at the weekends although it ends fairly early. We really enjoyed our time here and I would recommended it very highly indeed and hope to be able to go back one day in the future.

Martinez’s flat was perfectly located both being in the 9er and on beautiful Ave Trudaine. The three bedrooms were comfortable and my girls loved the toys in the children’s bedroom. We had an excellent stay. The only thing to note is that like in most Paris flats the floors can be creaky and occasionally you can hear people on Trudaine. That said, nothing kept us up. It is really a lovely Paris escape.

We had an amazing stay at Martine's apartment with our family. A very spacious apartment, very kid friendly, at the perfect location! Located on a very lively street with plenty of nice cafe's, bakeries, shops. Also conveniently located close to the subway and Gare du Nord train station. Martine is a very friendly host who very kindly helped us when we had an emergency during our stay. We will definitely be back!

Staying at Ave Trudaine made our Thanksgiving time in Paris wonderful. The place is great and stylish as described in the website. The location makes access to restaurant and food shopping very convenient. Comunication with the owner was perfect and very responsive. Highly recommended!

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Avenue Trudaine Residence earlier this month. Martine was there to greet us, give us a brief tour and was very responsive during the stay if any questions came up. The kitchen was well-appointed with enough cookware, silverware and even spices to make a real meal. The playroom was a big hit with my 20-month-old daughter who was smitten with all of the toys and books. We fell in love with the neighborhood as well- so many wonderful cafes, shops and even a playground designed for toddlers a couple blocks away. Like many of the reviewers here we are already dreaming of our next trip and stay at Martine's lovely home. Merci!

Had a great experience at Martine's apartment. It was spacious and comfortable for us (a couple, two young kids, and parent-in-law), and in a fantastic location, we only had to go around the corner to pick up food, and toiletries we forgot to pack! Plus there's that carousel right at the corner which was a pretty big hit for the little ones. Martine made herself very available to us should anything come up, and checked in, but everything was perfect, we had no problems! Would definitely love to stay here again.

Martine was a responsive and welcoming host. She waited for us to arrive from the airport to give us a short tour and was available to us via WhatsApp throughout our trip. The apartment is spacious, and beautifully decorated with some of (what we believe) is Martine's art. The baby books and toys were a plus and our baby slept through the night in the very comfortable travel crib. The two showers + bathroom combo worked well for our family of four and the kitchen was spacious and had everything we needed. We worried that the creaky wood floors might wake the baby, but it was never the case! The kids room and back room are super quiet, despite there being two restaurants situated below. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you Martine!

Martine’s house was magical inside and out. The house is beautifully furnished and also family friendly. The location is wonderful. Rue des Martyrs is filled with yummy cafes, restaurants, and fresh markets. There are many metro stops around within a 10 minute walk and it’s a picturesque 15 minute walk to Sacre Couer. My kids are 8 and 11 and they are already asking us if we can stay there again! Martine is lovely and was very easy to communicate with if we had any questions.

This was the perfect place to stay in SoPi. So close to all the amazing food shops on Rue Des Martyrs. It was very baby friendly. We stayed there with one 4 month old and one 18 month old. The space was also great to relax in after the babies went to bed. Highly recommended.

My husband, son and I had a wonderful stay at Martine's chic apartment! It was very comfortable, spacious and had many amenities to make traveling with a baby easier, such as a bathtub and washer/dryer. The kid's room no longer had a crib set up, but Martine kindly supplied a travel crib for us to use for our stay. Also, being up only 1 flight of stairs was helpful since we were constantly carrying a stroller + carseat up and down. The location was perfect for us, with a great coffee shop next door and tons of restaurants, cafes and supermarkets nearby. Just a note that the cafe beneath the apartment plays loud music until 2am, generally on the weekends. Luckily we had been given a head's up so we were prepared and Martine mentioned that they were working on sound-proofing, so it's likely this will no longer be an issue in the near future. It didn’t bother us much, but if you (or your children) are very light sleepers, I might recommend asking about the music before booking. Martine was a wonderful host -- very kind, communicative and responsive. The bottle of wine she left for us at check-in was a sweet touch. All in all, Martine's flat was the perfect home base for our first big international trip with a baby. If we were to find ourselves back in Paris, I would definitely stay here again!

We had such a wonderful stay at Martine's home. The apartment is absolutely beautiful and infused with unique details from the lovely paintings by Martine in every room to the delicious smelling soap and linen sheets. We loved the neighborhood where you can walk out the door to find amazing coffee and the buzz of neighborhood Parisian life all around you. The area is a food-lovers dream with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables stands, cheese shops, bakeries and wine stores in every direction. It's a short walk to Montmatre with its rich bohemian history and the incredible Sacre-Coeur church. The neighborhood has a great energy and feels authentic -- not touristy at all. Martine made sure that we were welcomed upon arrival and left ideas for local restaurants and areas to visit. We'd come back anytime to enjoy this beautiful slice of Paris.

We had such a lovely time staying at Martine's apartment. We truly felt like we were in the best area to eat, walk, and stay. The kids had the most incredible time there as well! There was kids toys, and space for them to be kids. The apartment was gorgeous and full of warmth. Martine beyond the perfect host. I would stay here a million times again! Love, The Zajfens

We had a wonderful stay at Martine's house on Avenue Trudaine. It is truly in a wonderful area of Paris. She has wonderful art and a great sense of design! The bedrooms were well laid out and we loved all the family-friendly extras, such as the toys and the bathtubs. One thing to note is that the family uses scented oils, which we were very allergic to, but one we moved those away from the bedrooms, it was much better. Martine met us at the apartment to explain everything clearly and we very much enjoyed staying at the apartment.

This was our third time staying at Avenue trudaine and we absolutely love it! Martine is a wonderful and most gracious host. The apartment is beautifully decorated but still comfortable for a family to be there and has so much charm!. It was very comfortable for us, our two toddlers and our nanny. There was plenty of space and had everything our kids needed. The area is wonderful with a carousel and park right out the door as well as many great restaurant options and markets close by to cook at home as well. Will definitely be back again next year!

Martine's home was absolutely wonderful. She provided a warm and friendly house tour when we arrived and had a lovely welcome present waiting for us. Communication before and after renting was prompt and helpful. The home was spacious, spotless and well located in trendy South Pigalle. I highly recommend Martine's residence. In fact, we hope to return for another stay this summer. Thank you!

We had the most wonderful stay at the Avenue Trudaine Residence! The apartment was gorgeous... a true 'bourgeois boheme' Parisian experience. Martine was absolutely lovely and very helpful. She provided us with lists and maps of organic markets, parks, and family friendly shops and restaurants in the area. The neighborhood was perfect with a carousel just steps away. We look forward to staying there again during our next trip to Paris!

Our family loved our stay in Martine's beautiful apartment. We felt very welcome. The kitchen is very well equipped, the beds are extremely comfortable, the living area is enormous and there is plenty of space throughout. We loved the area, with plenty of coffee shops, places to buy delicious food, interesting boutique shops and close to 3 metro stations. Our 2 young daughters loved all the toys and our youngest kept requesting a bath so she could play with the bath toys! Martine was quick to answer the one question we had during our stay and kindly posted on the kindle I managed to leave behind. I loved all the gorgeous art and objects on display. Martine has managed to create a beautifully furnished apartment that is still very child-friendly. We hope to be able to visit again sometime soon.

What a fantastic place and stay we had! Highlights were the fantastic neighborhood with its lovely boutiques, delicious restaurants, and all of the food shops. To be able to walk to all of these added to the convenience and charm of this place. The flat itself is gorgeously decorated with details such as linen bedsheets, artwork, yummy smelling hand soap and it has such a coziness to it. We all loved this place and would highly recommend it to anyone (and would love to return). Thank you, Martine for sharing your lovely home with our family!

51 Avenue Trudaine is a very large apt in a lovely arrondissement of PAris. The Rue de MArtyrs is filled with cheese shops, charcuterie shops, wine stores, butchers, coffee shops and many good patisseries. The apt was very clean and had lots of toys for my granddaughter. The kitchen was very well equipped and the living room was large with lots of places to sit. The only problem was that we read the site and thought there were three bathrooms, which to me means two or three toilets. THere was only one toilet but there were two other shower/sink rooms. MArtine was very nice and very helpful. SHe made dinner reservations for us and let us drop our bags off early on arrival day and then even let us leave them late on departure day. There was a playground only 4 blocks from the apt and the metro was 3 blocks away. I would recommedn this apt to other renters with kids. THank you.

The Avenue Trudaine apartment was just what we envisioned a real Parisian stay would be like. The home was beautiful, comfortable, and equipped with everything a large family requires when traveling with small children. The neighborhood was fantastic--stunning views, great restaurants and child-friendly activities only minutes away. The host answered our many questions and left us a series of guides and suggestions for activities and restaurants. We loved every minute of our stay!

This home will truly make you feel like you are at home in Paris! It is a gorgeous flat with bohemian flair in the trendy part of town. There is so much space that even with a houseful of people there are plenty of places to find privacy. What aren't mentioned under amenities are the wonderful surprise details, such as an eclectic book and art collection, gorgeous linen bedding, a high-tech television projection system, and thoughtful supplies for the little ones like cutlery, plates and glasses and even a potty seat and stool. We loved staying here and spent all of our time wishing we never had to leave. When you travel here with small children you really don't need to bring anything with you except their clothes! Our experience exceeded our expectations.

Our 3 year old daughter felt immediately at home with the well-appointed kids bedroom, toys and furniture. The neighbourhood is super family- friendly with Anvers Square park less than five-minutes walk up the street, a small carousel on the corner and many amazing cafes and restaurants at your doorstep. There are several Metro stations within walking distance and grocery stores and pharmacies as well. An amazing vacation and truly, excellent value. We hope to return soon!!

We're back home but we left our hearts in Paris, and more specifically at 51 Avenue Trudaine! Like other families who have stayed here, we could have happily moved in forever. As it stands, we'll just have to plan for another visit. Martine, our host, was incredibly gracious, warm, and welcoming. She left very clear instructions on how to use everything in the home as well as her contact information if any questions came up (a couple did over the course of our 2 week stay and she always responded quickly). The neighbourhood is ideal: 2 metros within a five minute walk, a grocery store, wonderful boulangeries, a playground, toy shop, adorable boutiques and fantastic restaurants, including Les Commis which is a great place to pick up a bottle of wine and right at the door - not to mention, the Sacre Coeur with its incredible views of Paris! There's almost no need to leave the neighbourhood to enjoy Paris. Our son, who is 1 1/2 years old, was in paradise. Between the playground that is a three minute walk away and the charming carousel-ride on the corner, he couldn't have been happier. Conveniently, the playground is close to the Anvers Metro which made it easy for us to make sure our son had plenty of playtime before we set off for a museum or gallery. If you enjoy walking like we do, the Louvre with its Jardins des Tuileries is an easy 35-40 minute walk away, and shopping at Les Galleries Layfayette and Printemps is a shorter walk. Getting around the city from South Pigalle was easy and rarely more than a twenty-minute subway ride from the major museums, art galleries, and other sites. Really, when it comes to living a true Parisian experience, you couldn't ask for a better apartment, a better host, or a better location. We can't wait to come back.

We loved staying here at Avenue Trudaine. My husband and I have been to Paris twice before having children and always stayed in the 6th arrondissement. I wish I had known on my prior visits what a gem this area is! It is quite perfect for families with many attractions (listed in other reviews) exceptionally easy and close walking distance. Restaurants and shops in the area are kind and accommodating to families with children. We really loved the area. We only had one glitch in that we were expecting a crib and on arrival our host explained she had recently switched it out for a toddler bed but she was quick to accommodate us and take care of the cost for a travel cot. A very small note (it may not matter to most) but the floor are quite creaky so if you have light sleepers bring ear plugs or a noise machine :) This is a beautiful home that we felt so comfortable in and I would highly recommend it!

First, our hostess was amazing. She left clear instructions on how to use items in her home and was so warm and inviting. The apartment is beyond beautiful and so comfortable for a family. She also left maps and recommendations for places to eat and playgrounds to visit and they were all spot on. Second, the neighborhood was fantastic. Absolutely the perfect Parisian neighborhood for families. There were a lot of young families around, and a small carousel (petit manege) just steps away that I couldn't keep my daughter out of. Also, the apartment is steps from Rue des Martyrs, which is quite possibly the most perfect little microcosm of Paris, with the best boulangeries, fromageries, charcuterie and cafes. We loved the neighborhood so much that we ended up spending far more time around the apartment than planned. It's also a quick walk to Montmartre for amazing views and picnic dinners.

We loved our stay in Paris! The Avenue Trudaine Residence was the perfect location for us. We had everything we needed within a short walk and the carousel right outside the front door was an extra bonus- the kids must've ridden 100 times! The apartment was beautiful and very well appointed- the kids car was a favorite- but the white furniture did stress me a little! Overall, I would highly recommend this location.

Our stay at The Avenue Trudaine Residence was fantastic with high ceilings, beautiful wood floors and a bright and airy feeling. We stayed with our 2 children and they loved having their own bedrooms and space (unlike traditional hotel rooms). The location was charming and we were able to walk to a few sights. We took the owners advice and ate at some of the restaurants on the Rue des Martyrs and truly never had a bad meal. There were so many places to chose from! The Metro is nearby and we found the area to be quite safe and not so jam-packed full of tourists. Nicely equipped facilities and great amenities (dishwasher and washer). We don't want to rent here again, we want to live here permanently! The owners were both helpful and quick to respond to emails or phone calls (even hand delivering the keys to us while in London). We are looking forward to returning to this apartment in the future. *This was my first experience with Kid&Co and I was not disappointed. I would highly recommend this apartment and location to anyone.
