A spacious, architect-designed apartment set over 2 floors with plenty of toys and room to unwind in style. It sleeps 4 + 2. Located in Paris’s trendy 11th arrondissement, the vibe is family-friendly with plenty of parks, laid back cafes and welcoming restaurants on the doorstep. The apartment is set down a quiet, semi-private street tucked away from traffic so the kids can sleep soundly and play safely. Inside, the space is split over 2 levels with a lower ‘kid's’ floor containing 2 single bedrooms and a living room/play den with toys, comics, a piano and a console, leaving the upper floor with the primary bedroom and loft style living room for the parents. The living areas are open plan style providing plenty of space to gather and eat together, while the bedrooms provide extra peace and privacy with an ensuite bathroom in the primary and play/desk space in the kids’ rooms. There’s a small balcony space for letting the kids out - and the breeze in - during the summer months.

Why Kids Love it

Kids of all ages will love the bright, open spaces and find plenty of fun in this entertainment-packed residence. The downstairs level is dedicated to play with comic books, toys – including LEGO and Kapla – and a PS4 for games tournaments. There’s a small balcony with space for outdoor play and the kids’ bedrooms are playrooms in themselves decked out with more toys, desk space and a fun floating bunk bed in one. The quiet passageway outside the apartment is sheltered from traffic offering a safe space for biking, scooting and walking with little ones in tow. Older kids and teenagers have parks and recreational areas on the doorstep, as well as a local metro station a short walk away for easy access to the rest of Paris’ treasures. The fantastical Pompidou Center is around 20 minutes by cab or bus while Disneyland is 45 minutes by train. The hosts can provide a crib, a baby bath, a baby monitor, and babysitter recommendations on request.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 nights. Please note that the apartment is duplex style and has a set of wide stairs without stairgates or handrails so kids need to be supervised. Pets are welcome but please let the hosts know in advance. There is no television, but the hosts can provide a video projector. One of the kid’s bedrooms has a floating bunk bed without a bed rail and is only accessed via a ladder making is only suitable for slightly older kids; the hosts are putting a sofa bed in this bedroom to provide extra sleeping space. There is no bathtub at the residence but there are 2 showers. Good WiFi and desk space is available for those needing to work. There is no parking but good local transport links to the rest of the city.

About the Location

The apartment is situated in Paris’ vibrant 11th arrondissement, a short 7-minute walk from the Place de la Nation. The neighborhood is known for its lively atmosphere, containing some of the city’s best restaurants and cafes, alongside plenty of green spaces with playgrounds and sports facilities. Within a stone's throw, guests will find a butcher, a cheesemonger, and a bakery famous for its traditional baguettes. The area offers excellent public transport links, including metro and bus lines, making it easy to explore all of Paris; the closest station is Nation just 5 minutes’ walk. Guests are around a 20-minute walk from the bustling Marché d'Aligre and the lively Bastille area, both famous for their markets, dining, and entertainment options, while the famous Père-Lachaise cemetery, the final resting place of Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrison and Chopin amongst others, is a 15-minute stroll down the road. The nearest international airport is Charles de Gaulle, a 40-minute drive, while the Gare du Nord for Eurostar trains is 25 minutes by car or 20 minutes by train.

Accommodation Details

The residence has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and is duplex style, set over 2 floors. The ‘ground’ floor level features a spacious living area with chairs, a piano, and toys, flanked by large bay windows and grand French doors which open onto an outdoor balcony with room for little ones to play. The 2 kid’s bedrooms are located on this floor with a single bed in each – 1 a mezzanine bunk bed and the other a single bed; both have desks, toys and play space. There is a shared bathroom with a shower, and a laundry nook including a washer/dryer for added convenience. Upstairs on the ‘first’ floor, guests will find a second living room featuring high ceilings and a designer Bouroullec sofa alongside chairs, a coffee table and a dining table seating 6. Adjacent to this is a semi open plan kitchen (connected to the living-dining area via a hatch), modern and fully equipped with everything a guest would expect. The primary suite is also on this level and includes a queensize bed and an ensuite bathroom with a shower.

The architect’s vision is present throughout, from the custom-built cabinetry to the seamless integration of modern appliances. The 2 level lay out creates connectivity whilst also providing privacy with a musical/play space downsides and an elegant, contemporary feel upstairs, complimented by luxurious designer furniture, including a Bouroullec sofa. We love the lofty vibes throughout with floor to ceiling windows and doors, high ceilings, wooden beams and stylish furnishings creating a cool and calm place to unwind in the centre of Paris.
