Perks for the Parents
This 4-bedroom safari house is surrounded by 23,000 acres of stunning private land teeming with wildlife, and comes fully staffed with butler, maids, chef and safari guides / activity rangers. Parents love Leobo because their children are entertained all day long by an enthusiastic team of staff, allowing them time to relax in the luxury of Leobo house. The owner has children of his own so the house is very well equipped for children of all ages, but remarkably this doesn't take away from the luxurious and stylish interiors of the house. There is a program for those wanting a structured stay, including game viewing and activities, and an activities list for those staying for a shorter stay.
Why Kids Love it
This house and estate offers an experience of a lifetime for kids of all ages. There is a lovely big swimming pool with a shallow gradient that suits young and older children alike. Activities include quad biking, fishing, kayaking and game views. Along with ponies and horses on site, there is an observatory and you can spot giraffe, hippos, zebra and antelope. All baby equipment is available, and nannies are available to look after young children while parents and older children go on game drives or participate in activities. To add to the fun, the kids bedroom has a triple bunk bed, and there is a mezzanine home cinema snug too.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 5 nights during school holidays, 2 nights for the rest of the year. There is no malaria in The Waterberg so no need for medication. Children will need to be supervised at all time, either by parents or staff in the house - there is a swimming pool (not fenced) and areas where young children may need extra help, including an open deck. The bunk bed is most suitable for kids over the age of 5 and has railing/netting to keep the top bunks safe.

The reserve has mountains, rivers, lakes, sandy tracks, African bush, and vast clear starry skies. Explore on foot on bush trails, by horseback or by jeep and see some of the natural wonders of the world: giraffe, buffalo, hippos, zebra and antelope.

Style Notes
Outstanding Africa. Leobo was designed by award-winning architects Silvio Rech and Lesley Carstens. It is contemporary and African, in tune with nature and largely built from materials found locally on the reserve. The main living space is beautifully shaped, with cozy nooks beside a contemporary fire, natural roof and, in place of a picture window, a deck with views to write home about. The upper terrace deck offers a luxurious place to dine and watch wildlife. Bathrooms are inventive, some with roofs open to the air, others with bespoke round tubs in the center of the room. We love this property for its architecture and incredible location and for the truly unique experience it promises for all the family in this once-in-a-lifetime natural paradise.

The Waterberg, South Africa
Paradise found
This biosphere zone in northern South Africa, a few hours’ drive from Johannesburg, has been called the country’s last remaining wilderness. Off the beaten track and all the better for it, the under-explored area is rich in wildlife, with buffalo, giraffe, kudu and rhino, and includes soaring mountains, savannah plains and river valleys. Watch the stars at night and the big five at play in the day.
