Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3, 5 or 7 nights depending on the season. Saturday-Saturday booking is sometimes required. A municipal tax of €1.50 per person per day is due on arrival. Rates include breakfast, swimming pool towels, gym, WiFi internet connection and a midweek change of towels. From Mid May to Mid September, 3 dinners are also included in a weekly stay. Rates exclude cooking classes, breakfast, extra cleaning, laundry service (all bookable for a fee). Breakfast and family cooking classes should be booked in advance. This unit can be rented on its own or in conjunction with other units at Al Gelso Bianco to accommodate a larger group. There is someone available to offer assistance and advice at all times during your stay. Note the pool is not gated but is set away from the properties. There are stairgates in every apartment and more can be provided on request. Most of the apartments are on the 1st or 2nd floor. Bathrooms typically are shower-only.

About the Location

The agriturismo is between Florence and Siena in the heart of Tuscany, and around 35 minutes’ drive from each. There are easy dining options nearby: the closest restaurant is a 3-minute drive away, and the closest supermarket is a 5-minute drive. It is in a rural, countryside location with pretty villages to visit nearby, including San Gimignano, Certaldo, Greve, Panzano, and Volterra. You can walk to Sant’Appiano in around 25 minutes and in Barberino in around 40 minutes - there is no walking path, but it is a nice walk in the countryside. The closest airport is in Florence, 40-50 minutes’ drive away. Car rental is essential in this rural countryside location.

Accommodation Details

The Alloro apartment was once an ancient barn and, despite recent modern renovations, maintains the features that distinguish ancient Tuscan barns; like the characteristic wooden beam ceiling. The apartment has 2 floors: a first floor and a wide mansard. The first floor overlooks the area of the garden closest to the swimming pool and is made up of an airy kitchen, bedroom with kingsize bed, and bathroom with shower. A stone staircase leads to the mansard that is made up of a wide living room with a fireplace, bedroom with kingsize bed, and bathroom with shower. This apartment is ideal for 4 people, but can accommodate up to 5/6 people thanks to a sofa bed. A private outdoor space is also available, equipped with chairs, table and parasol. Ideal for families with children for its vicinity to the swimming pool.

Style Notes

Rustic Tuscany. With deep reds, terracotta tiles and classic countryside views, this property offers the chance to experience Tuscany as it should be done. Set on a winery with ultra-locally produced wines and olive oils to try, and pretty medieval villages to explore nearby, it’s the quintessential Tuscany location. Wood beamed ceilings, stone steps and open fireplaces add to the appeal. We love the location, the attention to detail and the efforts made to keep children and adults happy on vacation.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
A 30% deposit is required to confirm the booking and is non-refundable except for the following reasons related to Covid: 1) Closure of the borders between countries 2) Impediments to travel due to Covid19, such as cancellation of a flight due to this reason or impossibility to leave your country due to a restriction decided by your government 3) New request of quarantine for entering Italy or to go back to your country 4) New "red" or "orange" zone in Tuscany In addition to the host’s policy which is listed here, all cancellations are subject to a Kid & Coe cancellation fee of 15% of the booking total.
