About the Location
The house is located in the prestigious neighbourhood of South Oak Bay, on one of the area’s prettiest streets. It feels much more like a country lane than a regular road, and it’s within walking distance to several beaches, Oak Bay Marina, as well as the best cafes, shops and restaurants - you’ll find everything you need on Oak Bay Avenue. It’s a 10-minute drive to downtown Victoria, where you’ll find heaps of tourist attractions, larger stores and the port for ferries down to Washington state. Victoria international airport is around half an hour north.
Accommodation Details
The house has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, set over 3 floors. At the heart of the home is a beautiful eat-in kitchen, with a high island plus a dining table and a large living room. Upstairs, there is a large primary bedroom, 2 children's double bedrooms, and a guest room with 2 single beds (which is ideal for grandparents, a nanny or an au pair). The large bright family bathroom has a bathtub and there’s a smaller bathroom with a tub/shower combo, plus a walk-in shower in the primary bathroom, and a laundry room, all located on the 2nd floor. A lovely office and a fifth bedroom/playroom are located on the top floor. This room has 5 single beds that can be configured in multiple ways for sleeping, lounging or watching a movie - great for older kids and teens.
Style Notes
Characterful and colorful. The host is an interior and fashion stylist, who works for Canadian House and Home Magazine (and styles many advertising campaigns for companies such as Aritzia, Lululemon and Microsoft just to name a few). They’ve chosen rich, warm tones to add depth to the space, framed by strong architectural features such as the large windows and brick fireplaces. We love the luxurious marble countertops in the kitchen, the historic architrave and the eclectic mix of furniture.
