Why Kids Love it
Fully equipped for babies and toddlers, including a crib, toddler bed, changing table and high chair. There are baby and toddler toys, books, and wheeled toys plus a garden to play in. Watergraafsmeer is a great area for young families- traffic is slow and several nearby parks make it perfect for strolls with young children. The Frankendaelpark is home to several famous restaurants, and the Flevopark is a beautiful park with plenty of kids activities and a ‘Youth Land’ with animals and a petting farm.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 5 days. The apartment is baby-proofed. Strictly no-smoking inside the house. No pets allowed. There is great public transportation. The hosts can lend their bikes upon request. Three Stokke triptrap high chairs, incl babyset and changing table are included and a baby bath, playpen and baby car seat are available on request. WiFi, washer/dryer and dishwasher included. It is a 20 minute bus/tram ride to train stations Amsterdam Central and Amsterdam Zuid, where you can find on a train directly to Schiphol Airport.
About the Location
The lovely Watergraafsmeer area feels like a village in the city. Located near the ‘Indische buur’ and the ‘Dappermarkt,’ the area is chock full of ethnic grocers, shops and leafy streets. Holland’s famous Artis Zoo is just around the corner, where they host weekly concerts and organize educational activities for the kids. Also near the recently renovated Tropenmuseum with elegant restaurant terrace overlooking the park and beautiful Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world.
Accommodation Details
This 3-bedroom ground floor apartment includes a living room with piano, open kitchen with dining for 6 + babies, and French doors to the garden. It has a primary bedroom with a kingsize bed and two children’ rooms: one with a single bed and one with a queen size children’s bed. There is a bathroom with walk-in shower and bathtub and half bathroom. There is a children’s bed in the primary bedroom that suits children from 0-5 years old.
Style Notes
Open and bright with muted colors. The residence was completely renovated in 2016 and has a contemporary Amsterdam style with solid wooden floors, kitchen skylight and Scandinavian design furniture mixed with vintage items and travel keepsakes from South America. We love the farmhouse table with modern Eames-style fiberglass chairs, unique pendant lighting and colorful art dotting the walls.

Vibrant, foodie and family-friendly
This area of east/central Amsterdam is vibrant, green and family friendly, with plenty of parks and playgrounds. It is near to Amsterdam Zoo, the ethnographic Tropenmuseum and plenty of local weekend markets. Nearby you’ll find canals, of course, along with the city’s science park, the Amstel train station and some wonderful restaurants, including De Kas and Dauphine.
