Perks for the Parents
This luxurious 3-story 4-bedroom pine chalet 200m from the slopes in Zermatt has an outdoor hot tub and sleeps up to 8. The kitchen is ideal for a family stay: well equipped for self-catering with a private chef as an additional option. There are sensational mountain views from the balconies on all levels. There is a concierge service available. There is plenty of space for a larger family or 2 smaller families traveling together.
Why Kids Love it
The mountain views, easy access to the slopes and snowman-building potential make this a great spot for those with kids. Ski schools nearby take children from age 4 and there is babysitting available on request from the hosts of the property. Board games and DVDs are provided and a Wii can be made available on request. High chairs, cribs and children’s DVDs are provided. Toys, books and games can be provided for a fee.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 7 days. Heating is geothermal where possible to reduce the chalet’s carbon footprint. There are balconies on the upper levels with full fencing. Note that there is no fireguard and there are no stair gates; there is a spiral staircase on the property and balconies can be accessed via 3 of the bedrooms. The chalet is fully self-catering. Additional services include babysitting, a full concierge service on request, PC and WiFi, laundry and dry cleaning service. Every room has a flatscreen TV with hundreds of satellite channels plus DVD player.
About the Location
The property is in the hills of Zermatt with views overlooking the village. It is just 2 minutes to the slopes via the Matterhorn Express lift station (200m away) and is connected to the end of the resort run by a tunnel and elevator. International flights into Geneva or Zürich are the most convenient, connecting with rail services to reach Zermatt in 3-4 hours. Zermatt itself is a car-free zone with electric cars only; car hire is not necessary.
Accommodation Details
This 3-story 4-bedroom chalet has a living room with wood fire and a dining room with an open plan modern kitchen on the ground floor, plus a patio terrace with an outdoor hot tub. The first floor has 2 double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms (one with bath, one with shower). The second floor has 2 further double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, and has sloping ceilings. Three bedrooms have a balcony.
Style Notes
Alpine chic. As is tradition, there is a lot of pine, but it is used in a contemporary style - with pine floors, sloping ceilings on the upper floor and stone walls throughout. The lounge has a wood burning fire and cozy sectional sofa; the bedrooms are comfortable with sensational views of the mountains. We love the sleek bathrooms and the terrace with its outdoor dining option in summer and hot tub for soaking with views of the stars at night.

Zermatt, Swiss Alps
the mountain mecca
This famed mountaineering and skiing town has the longest winter ski season in Europe, running to early May, and nine of the ten highest mountains in Europe, including the pyramid-shape of the Matterhorn. The cobbled town is a car-free zone and connections to the closest slopes are easy, by electric taxi or horse-drawn sleigh. Ski schools nearby take kids from age 4.
