This large light-filled penthouse on the top floor of a modern chalet in central Zermatt sleeps up to 6 and has Matterhorn views and a contemporary style. Close to the main street and the Sunnegga Express base lift station, it’s great for skiiers and families alike. The three double bedrooms can be configured as double beds or twins, and the stunning open plan living-dining-kitchen space is great for families, with plenty of space and light. It’s all on one level; we especially love the two bedrooms with views of the mountains from your very pillow.
What we love
- It’s modern luxury living in the alps: sloping wood-beamed ceilings with floor-to-ceiling windows, a contemporary fireplace and sheepskin rugs all fluffy underfoot
- The Matterhorn views: not every chalet in Zermatt has these, and this property has them day to night through the south-facing windows
- The open-plan living space is great for families - kids can be relaxing in front of the TV or playing in the lounge while you cook dinner in the designer kitchen
- All three bedrooms have double beds that can work as twins, and sheepskin rugs underfoot
- Two of those bedrooms have windows facing the beds so you can view the mountains and twinkling village lights from your bed
- There are two luxury bathrooms, one with a bathtub and both with a shower
- It’s a good location, five minutes to the ski lift and close to Sunnegga ski lift, and 8 minutes to the center of Zermatt

Zermatt, Swiss Alps
the mountain mecca
This famed mountaineering and skiing town has the longest winter ski season in Europe, running to early May, and nine of the ten highest mountains in Europe, including the pyramid-shape of the Matterhorn. The cobbled town is a car-free zone and connections to the closest slopes are easy, by electric taxi or horse-drawn sleigh. Ski schools nearby take kids from age 4.
