Postcards from Arizona

Juicebox Media

Find out how our friends at Juicebox Media entertained the kids on an inspirational journey to Sedona, the Grand Canyon and the best of Arizona…

We are video content creators in California, and have 3 little ones who love to see the world – this is our postcard from Arizona! We stayed in a Kid & Coe home: it was the perfect place for our party of five and came with so many simple, but sanity-saving amenities for families (i.e., kids plates/cups, a high chair, and why are other people’s toys so much more interesting than their own, btw?). Come adventure in Arizona with us!

Boynton Canyon

In our search for a kid-friendly hike, we decided on Boynton Canyon for its beautiful landscape and 3-year-old capable hiking terrain. We had a great view of Mescal Mountain and the kids were fascinated by the red dirt and prickly cactus. A sweet man came up to us and gave each of our kids a heart shaped rock, which they insisted on bringing home with us.

The Grand Canyon

We took a two-hour drive from Sedona to visit the Grand Canyon. We haaaad to, right? It was the first time for all of us to see this crazy piece of earth. I used to be one of those people who wondered why would anyone drive out to see a big hole for five seconds and peace out, but I am now a believer. Totally worth the drive and effort! We picked up a children’s book about the Grand Canyon first so the kids had an idea of what we would be seeing, which turned out to be a good idea.

Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village

Wanting to pick up some unique to Sedona gifts, we took a stroll to the Tlaquepaque (which means “best of everything”) Arts & Crafts Village. Such a cool vibe! It’s surrounded by sycamores and has been a Sedona landmark with its vine covered stucco walls, cobble-stoned walkways and beautiful arched entryways. We had fun window-shopping and of course, purchasing some cactus candy to try!

The Chapel of the Holy Cross

Just a few miles from our Kid & Coe, we came across signs for the Chapel of the Holy Cross. It sits atop a hill, which gives you some breathtaking views of Sedona. It’s quiet, spiritual, and just beautiful. I’m so glad we made it here, and the kids were even quiet and taking it all in! Our son is imagining how those mountains make perfect ramps to zoom his hot wheels down.

Arizona by hot air balloon

I had started following Float Balloon Tours on Instagram a year ago, and hoped one day we would get to book a ride with them. Being in Arizona, we HAD to go for it! I mean…how many chances will we get to take a hot air balloon ride? Plus, I knew our kids would flip. The service and safety was fantastic and it was really an experience of a lifetime. Add this to your bucket list!

Brunch in the desert

Right after our family hot air balloon ride with Float Balloon Tours, their sister company, Cloth and Flame prepared a fresh and delicious brunch for us right in the middle of the desert. Our oldest daughter saw the beautiful spread of food and shouted out, “This is the best day ever!”
